"After talking with an individual over the phone they estimated that the initial cleaning would be about 2 hours, after arrival the team leader said it would probably take 2 and a half or so.    I said two and a half would be okay if it got it done right.  After confirming the rooms that were to be cleaned, the four woman split up and started doing their work.  I was home during the cleaning but I basically stayed out of the way.  I saw the leader working on the kitchen downstairs while the other three started on the second floor.    It seemed like everyone was working the whole time, but I can't believe that to be true.  The woman with the vacuum moved between the first and second floor, the other two women were on the second floor for the first hour or so.  When they finished upstairs and came down to clean the first floor my son and I went out on the back deck.  
When they were packing up to leave the leader had me walk through the house.  They had skipped an entire  bedroom upstairs (no one had told me I needed to leave the door open, and no one asked if that room should be cleaned, despite the confirming two bedrooms upstairs at the beginning.)  I asked the team leader about this and she said that they don't open doors, so she called the team back in to have them work on the room, which added another 15 minutes to the time.  Also meaning that the women had initially spent over an hour on one bedroom, one bathroom and a small loft area.   With the kind of time the cleaning took I would have expected things to be awesome. However I later noticed neither of the bathroom floors were cleaned, the bathroom cabinets had dust on all of the door and drawer tops, the sofa legs in the family room were still dusty,  there were cobwebs on the window sill of upper windows, all of this along with additional small details around the house being sub par.  I will say that the team leader was working on the kitchen and it turned out great, I am not sure the other three ladies were working as hard. 
I feel like I was way over charged for the quality of work that was done. Or the work that was done did not need to take as long as it did.  
UPDATE (After speaking with the company and reading their response):
Ron at The Maids did call me after reading this review and offered to take $50 off the cleaning by sending a check.  I appreciate that steps were taken to make the situation right however, after reading the response I am less impressed.  Things that upset me about the response are the idea that there was something about the condition of my house that would cause the cleaning to take longer than the average.  If this is the case I can't imagine what they expect your house to look like when they show up.  My house was picked up and is uncluttered, I truly just needed cleaning, vacuuming, dusting, floors, bathrooms, etc..  I am a bit offended that the comment seems to imply that the condition of my house caused additional time to be needed.
 Also, I did agree to the additional time requested by the team leader with the assumption that the additional time would allow the house to be completely cleaned.  I didn't expect to add time and still have areas of the home skipped or not done to the degree promised by the company.  I  did read that there was a 24 hour guarantee however I didn't notice everything within the first 24 hours and at that point I was so disappointed with the company that I was not interested in having them back.   I guess I'm a bit weary of a company that points to their guarantee a solution, I want to do business  with a company that prides itself on getting the work done right the first time.  I had already set aside over 2 and a half hours to get my house cleaned, and the company's answer is for me to set additional time out to have them come back."
