Look, paying for a new roof is no one's idea of fun, but over time the peace of mind that will come with our new 40-year roof will likely be worth. We got a total of 3 quotes, and Icon's quote basically "tied" another company's from a financial perspective, but I felt more comfortable with Icon because I could tell Caleb would take good care of us. I was right -- Caleb took great care of us throughout the process, checking on the project's progress almost every day. Our project did take longer than expected -- originally expected for 4 or 5 days but it took 9, due to some rainy/windy weather and fewer subs showing up to our project each day than expected. Even with the delays, Caleb checked up on us every day, assured us that the project was properly "buttoned up" for the inclement weather, and answered every one of our questions/concerns. The finished product looks fantastic, our property was cleaned up well, and we're happy we hired Icon."

"The original repair date was July 30, 2024 8:00-5:00. At 12:04, I received an email that the technician Trever was on his way. When he had still not arrived and I had not heard from him, I tried calling the Sears Home Service number and was unable to speak to a person to ask what may have happened. I then called Choice and was told they have no control over the companies they hire to provide the repair services but would reach out to Sears to schedule another person. I then received an email that the technician commented "customer declined service" with a payment receipt for $300.00. WHAT!! Trever never arrived and we never declined service to a person who wasn't here and didn't call. I waited all day for him!! Then Sears Home Services had the nerve to send an email asking for me to rate the excellence of service. I couldn't believe it. Meanwhile my dishwasher still hasn't been repaired or evaluated. The next morning, Wednesday, July 31, William C from Sears Home Services called and said he would be here between 12:00 and 12:30. He arrived about 12:45 and went right to work trying to figure out the problem with the dishwasher. He determined that the cost of repair would exceed $450 and it would take at least a week for the parts to be delivered . He spoke to Michelle at Choice Home Warranty and she said she would let him know whether it should be repaired or replaced. She did call back a few minutes later to say it would be replaced. Not long after that I did receive an email from Choice with that news and the allowance of $246 instead of a replacement. I went to Lowe's to see what I could purchase to replace my dishwasher. The $246 barely covers the $174 delivery and installation and $50 charge to remove the old dishwasher. I ended up tapping the "accept" option b/c I felt pressured. The salesman at Lowe's said it would be at least two weeks for any new dishwasher to be delivered to the store and then scheduled for delivery and installation. Also, I have to pay up front for the entire costs involved. Your email stated it could take up to 30 days to receive the eCard for Lowe's. In the meantime, I STILL don't have a dishwasher. I would very much appreciate CHW expediting the eCard for Lowe's so I can purchase a new dishwasher."

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."
