"I signed up to have a modular log home built on an existing foundation. The builder had a number of specifications that needed to be met to get the foundation ready for the new house. I contacted 8 other companies, but no one could help me with my long list of tasks. When I finally got ahold of Highlander Waterproofing, I started by telling them I was a problem child. I listed all the work that needed to be done and Mike told me that nothing on my list sounded sounded scary. I got a couple of visits from Mario, the manager, and Mike, the senior engineer, and one of their senior job bosses. They were all knowledgeable, helpful, positive, and suggested that I use steel supports instead of concrete to save space. Work started in August when Dewey and JT started knocking off the top 2 courses of block. "The Gents" - Dewey (the job boss) Devon, Jimmy, Matt, and Dave - did wonderful work. Because of Murphy's Law, we had to knock some walls down and rebuild them because of bowing, and we ended up adding an internal French Drain. They set rebar, poured tons of concrete, dug footers, put up steel support beams, installed glass block windows, put down sill plates, and rebuilt the front where the garage doors will be. I cannot even begin to say how pleased I am with the work they did. And they were a lot of fun to boot! They let me video them daily, tease them mercilessly, and they had the good grace to laugh when my dog made off with their breakfast jerky. There is still some work to do when the house actually gets here in April - insulating the outside wall, backfilling, putting the sump pumps in, rebuilding the center wall, and digging footers for the porch. I have absolute confidence in Highlander Waterproofing and "The Gents." I would recommend them highly and with no reservations to anyone who needs foundation work. I will add to this post with the final pictures in April."

"He dug up the outdoor wiring in the ground. I only had half my power I had no heat, hot water or stove. Earth was rock/clay hard and he did it with a pick and shovel. Dug under 3 sidewalks and also was careful not to disturb other pipes and wirings including my neighbors. It took a week and a half. Weather was starting to get cold as well and he worked non stop. I finally got my power and he cleaned up the yard so good. Excellent worker and a pleasant person as well. His price was good. I am 73 and needed my heat and stove and water. I was using an elctric heater during this time. I am so greatful that he was so dedicated to his work."

"I was very impressed with Seth and his crew! We had a horrible water situation in our basement (bought an older home and the first heavy rain revealed serious water issues! ugh!) and knew it needed a serious solution if we wanted to be able to use our basement for storage. Seth provided a free quote and even suggested additional solutions with pricing options. He communicated with me quickly by text and took the time to explain every step of the process. At the end of each work day, he would walk me through all the work that had been done that day (again, answering any of my questions). The guys worked hard for four days, in some pretty hot and humid conditions! Seth also pointed out some other problem areas in my basement as they did their work and made recommendations on how to resolve those issues (there was some wood rot on the stairway area and a leaking water bib; he even gave me the name of a contractor for replacing my rain gutters outside when I was ready). I chose Better Basements & Beyond because it is a local company (not some big box company just out to make a buck) but also because Seth actually does the work himself (again, no fancy representative doing a sales pitch who doesn't get his hands dirty). He stands by his work and makes sure it it done to the highest standards. I would HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone who needs water mitigation services."

"Dan and his crew repaired a bridge that is in my driveway. The bridge goes over a water run-off trench. They poured a concrete foundation under the bridge to minimize erosion and installed jacks for supporting the bridge. They also replaced a section of my driveway that was crumbling apart. They did a wonderful job, were neat, on time and cost effective. I would highly recommend them for your job."

"The work was messy but The crew was very hard working. The jackhammer hit a pipe under our sink. They came back to fix that. While the amount of water was drastically reduced in our basement, I will never feel secure enough to finish it. They have returned 4-5 times to troubleshoot the problem because their service has a lifetime guarantee. The last time they came (2 years after original job) they added another sump pump and redug one of the ditches. It seems to have helped but I still see a very small amount of water seeping through a few cracks in the floor. With two small kids in the house, it's exhausting to keep having service people in and out of your house. I'm not happy it took so many visits, but I think overall that they were fairly quick in responding to my calls and getting out to our house."
