Locally owned and operated since 1999. We are part of a national network of General Contractors, started in 1966 doing insurance restoration - serving property owners by restoring their property to pre-loss condition or better. We strive for minimal disruption and work with owner's insurance company to get payments processed and alleviate some of the headache. We have restored, remodeled, retrofitted numerous commercial and residential properties. Our customers are the best and we love helping them renovate/restore their living space and give them peace of mind that it is done right.

"DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. RUN, RUN, RUN. Paid Lowe's $21,000 for a bathroom remodel around Halloween 2017. They were to start December 1 and thought they could be done by Christmas. The contractor Lowe's used was Paul Davis. It's now September 2018 and no bathroom or even close. First day they are supposed to arrive and they don't and with no call saying they aren't coming even though I spoke with them the night before to confirm. It was a few days before they showed up with no legitimate excuse. Of course there was a change order (no big deal, to be expected) which I paid immediately to Lowe's. Well, the project manager for Paul Davis said they have to wait to get paid from Lowe's before he could start the work and that ended up taking a couple weeks even though I paid it within the hour I was told. I think they could have worked in the meantime, but they were busy doing some apartments and didn't really have time for my lowly bathroom project. Of course Christmas not possible now. Now in September of 2018 and still have no bathroom and haven't been able to use our master bedroom or garage all because of this nightmarish remodel. We were told by Lowe's and Paul Davis that the master bedroom should not be affected by the bathroom remodel, which we stressed to them please don't trash our bedroom. They said they would put plastic on floor and a curtain on bathroom door to keep dust in. Lasted five minutes, fell down, and they never put it up again. Plastic on floor they put about an foot wide strip leading to the sliding glass door outside our master bedroom as if they would only walk there and not step on the carpet with their dirty shoes. We complained and nothing done because no communication between workers and project manager, which by the way for the first month or two if we got two hours a day of work from them, that was an exceptional day, in the meantime us having to wait at the house for them and not being able to make any plans, but to stay in the house and wait for them to show up, which was many, many times they didn't show at all and, like I said, not long if they did. We complained that please notify us if you're not coming so we don't waste our day. They were always very polite talking to us or I should say lying to us. Never did what they said. The work they did had to be redone several times as they had no plans and the workers didn't know what they were doing. Weeks are going by and the project is inching along. Don't show, show up for two hours, don't show, come back for two hours and redo what they did wrong the first time. Every time they showed up we had to tell them please don't step on the bedroom carpet and we don't want a bedroom remodel, just the bathroom. No one would communicate this to them and they had different workers each time they showed up and so we had to make it a point to tell them this each day they bothered to show up. My wife was basically the project manager on this job because of their lack of one, including finding out from the internet what materials to use that were acceptable for a bathroom as they would use the cheapest way possible in every situation that was not proper. Our fault was that we did not complain enough. We gave them so many opportunities to get going on the project, but finally after about three months we complained to Lowe's when they quit showing up or returning any texts. Ends up their project manager was very sick and ended up retiring. Not our fault, but hopefully he was the problem. After we called Paul Davis to complain after three months, they seemed shocked to learn anything about our home. They sounded like they felt really bad that this was happening and they had no idea we were being treated like this from their project manager. They came out and saw where we were and made promises to us that they would make it right, it was a terrible situation, shouldn't have been like this. I felt better and realized I should have contacted them much sooner. Then they had a new project manager, who saw what bad work had been performed, and actually wanted to do a good job. Problem is they had no workers capable of doing a good job. New project manager was interviewing people every day and ended up firing most of the workers they had. Finally got a new guy. High hopes, talks a good game. His work was just as poor. We had questions on how he was doing things and had Lowe's representatives meet with Paul Davis representatives and look at our shower. Lowe's had them redo the floor. The walls passed the eye test, but later on as Paul Davis was leaving the site a few days later the tiles were falling off the wall. And that work had been approved. Finally got to the point where we didn't like that they were taking such shortcuts like not removing the thinset from the old tiles and just trying to reglue them. They called their boss at Paul Davis and they said either we leave them alone and let them finish their terrible job the way they want or they will pack up their stuff and leave. So six months probably into our two-week project where we had lost the use of our bedroom, bathroom, garage to store materials, ruined grass outside because they left the dumpster out there for three months, I called Lowe's. The guy over our account wasn't there, but another person helped me and said what usually happens if they were to leave is another company that Lowe's uses would finish the project. Okay with me. I let them leave. Well, no other company worked for Lowe's. Lowe's said only resolution was to let their incompetent company come back and finish their incompetent job that we paid $21,000 for. Not acceptable to us. We wanted someone else. We had three companies come to give estimates to finish with the quotes being around 11,000 to 12,000. No, Lowe's wouldn't do that. Had to be incompetent Paul Davis. No progress with Lowe's at all until finally contacted customer care. Was thinking since I was dealing directly with the parties I would get more progress, but finally through customer care they made an offer of settlement. Anyway, their final offer of 7,800 will be accepted instead of going through an attorney because, of course, all the language in contract is in their favor. Basically should say we can screw you over and you can't do anything about it. So ends up costing up another 4,000 to finish in addition to being without the use of our bedroom or bathroom for 10 months on a two-week project. Had to live out of our guest room. Wife had to wear same clothes for a year as all her clothes are trapped in the dusty bedroom. All their promises of being satisfied and how terrible the situation is was all BS. They don't care. By the way, that new project manager that cared about doing a good job lasted one month with Paul Davis because he was tired of fighting with company owner over their unacceptable work on multiple projects. I'm writing this now before I accept their release of claims because the language in their release says you can't complain about them after you accept it. Such BS. That's why I'm writing before I sign the release. Had kitchen remodel through Lowe's that went great. This was a nightmare experience. Can't believe Lowe's could have such a poor contractor working for them. STAY AWAY FROM PAUL DAVIS AND LOWE'S FOR BATHROOM REMODEL."

FAQs for wainscoting installation projects in Lexington, SC

Wainscoting is decorative paneling that covers the lower part of a wall for style and protection. Beadboard is a type of wainscoting made of long vertical planks with small raised beads between each board. You’ll see it on walls and ceilings when homeowners want added depth and charm. Both options work indoors or outdoors; beadboard pieces lock together with tongue-and-groove joints, while similar styles, such as shiplap, rely on a square rabbet joint.

The best rule of thumb for wainscoting is to stop the panels at about one-third of the wall height. In a room with a nine-foot ceiling, that’s roughly three feet up. Sticking to this ratio keeps the room balanced, lets plenty of wall color show above the trim, and delivers a polished, timeless look.

Wainscoting can make a room look smaller if the room has low ceilings. The same rule applies to wainscoting as it does to painting any space: to make the room look larger and more open, paint it a light color, such as white or cream. Since beadboard incorporates vertical lines in the paneling, this style of wainscoting is ideal for those wanting to make a room appear larger than it is.

Technically, you can panel any room, but wainscoting shines in open areas, such as a foyer or a tall-ceilinged bathroom. Skip it in small rooms with low ceilings—panels can make tight spaces feel boxed in. Open-concept layouts without clear stopping points along the walls are also tricky, as the trim requires a distinct beginning and end.

Removing existing wall panels before installing wainscoting involves distinct demolition efforts. The cost to hire a professional for demo work is $1.50 per square foot. If the underlying drywall requires replacement after panel removal, an additional fee of $1.60 to $2.35 per square foot is incurred. Completing these tasks properly ensures a sturdy foundation and a flawless finish.
