"11/04/18 I am changing this review. One of the things they did was cut off the bottom of the sliding door so it would slide easier. The work was done in August. I didn't notice until fall / winter, there was no weather striping and the wind was blowing in, actually snow was blowing in. I had to have a new sliding door installed which I did 2/22/18. I never did hear back from them about the balances for the double-hung windows. Very prompt service. I contacted them Tuesday, August 22, 2017, the sliding door was repaired the following Monday. Alex explained the repair (it needed a new track) and why it was needed. The double hung window needs new balances, Alex is checking into the part. I was very happy with their work and will recommend them to anyone who needs a sliding door repaired. I had contacted 3 other companies. One said it couldn't be fixed, buy a new door; one didn't respond; and one was to busy to handle the repair now. I am thankful Sliding Door Repair Service was able to help me. They did such an excellent job!"

"We had an exterior door to our garage that would not close/latch properly and therefore presented a security risk. I called multiple companies for quotes and explained we'd like to try repairing the door first, but are open to replacing it if necessary. Multiple other companies told us there was no other option but to replace the door. Robert's company was the last one on our list to gather a quote from. He came by the very next day after I called, immediately found core problem with the door (simple loose screws in the hinges) and fixed then and there. The fix was so simple, he didn't even charge us. I so appreciate that Robert wasn't trying to scam us into a bigger more expensive project of replacing the entire door. "Went so so. There was an issue with the installation. The company came back out to fix their mistake. The initial install of the chair rail was too low. So the chairs were still hitting the wall and damaging it. They had to come back out to take it down and reinstall. During the take down of the original installation the contractor ripped the top layer of drywall along the entire length of the chair rails. Which damaged the walls. After this company performed the work I needed to pay another contractor to repair the walls that were damaged during this project. The damaging of the walls was not communicated to me during the rework. It was unexpected. During the rework I also had to go buy additional materials and then return unused additional materials. So this project caused me unexpected time having to spend time explaining the mistake, having to make a couple extra trips to the hardware store for materials for rework. As well as unexpected additional costs to pay a drywall contractor to mud and sand the unexpected tears in the wall. This company said the tears were because there was wallpaper that was covered up. However the drywall repair contractor I hired to fix the damage said that was not the case."

"I obtained several quotes. Benchmark was at least $100 less than the 4 other quotes for the same door with windows, t-handle/lock, and installation/disposal.  I received a call back from John W. within 30 minutes of my initial voice mail at 4:30 on Good Friday which was totally unexpected. The following Tuesday morning I called him to say we wanted to go ahead. He came out around 4:30 that day for measurements and to sign the paperwork. I wanted a Saturday appointment since my husband would be home  to remove some canoes and kayaks we stored in the garage so the installer could access the garage door tracks. John was able to schedule us for that coming Saturday morning. He would have been able to come within a couple days if that would have worked for us. On Saturday morning the installer showed up promptly. My husband had a slow start that morning and had not moved much out of the garage by the time the installer arrived. The installer was able to work around everything (which my husband's choice, not something Benchmark recommended just in case a tool got dropped on our kayak). The job was done within a couple hours, the old door and parts were hauled away, and it looks and functions great.
John is very nice, professional, and did not pressure me into buying something I didn't want or need.  Overall the transaction went very smoothly from start to finish. I would highly recommend Benchmark for a garage door installation.
