"All of the individuals that I interacted with in this company take a great deal of pride in the service they perform. The project consisted of refinishing kitchen and dining room wood floors. The service was performed at a very high level of proficiency and was completed in one day, applying protective covering, which minimize dust cleanup. Their fee was a below competitive, which I thought was totally inappropriate for the quality of the work, and they stuck to their quote. I would not hesitate to use this company in the future for my flooring needs. They were a delight to work with."

"Kevin and his father did an amazing job refinishing all the wood floors in my house. They arrived when promised and kept in touch with me while the work was being done. They cleaned up after they finished. Professional quality throughout at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend Oak House Hardwood Floors."

I have worked in the trades for almost 40 years and am currently renovating my 3rd 100 year old home in the greater Portland area.\nAfter that many homes and countless other projects over the years, i have become proficient and confident in almost every aspect of home building, renovating, and remodeling.\nBig or small, my attention to detail and ability to communicate clearly with my clients has allowed me to keep a steady workload based almost entirely on repeat calls.\nThat said, i am always excited to meet new challenges, learn new skills, and add more happy customers to my base.

"Sam was excellent. Very efficient and high quality. He completed two rooms with different flooring types in a weekend. The entire process from estimate to install was less than two weeks. I would recommend Sam Im Flooring to anyone without reservations."

"Joe repaired 3 sections of our curb that were broken in a couple hours. Also said he would come back to smooth out concrete if it appeared to need it when settling. So far work looks good."

FAQs for wood flooring refinish projects in Limerick, ME

Rental sanders can address moderate surface damage, but their effectiveness depends on scratch depth and overall floor condition. Drum sanders offer the most aggressive removal capability for deeper imperfections. However, if the damage extends into the wood structure or affects large portions of the floor, board replacement by an expert might be necessary before sanding. Consult a flooring professional for help.

Always thoroughly review the manufacturer's operating instructions before starting. Wear appropriate safety gear, including goggles to protect your eyes and a respirator to prevent inhalation of dust. Inspect electrical components before each use to prevent shock hazards. Keep children and pets away from the work area, and maintain a clean space by frequently vacuuming dust accumulation to prevent slipping and to ensure you can see well.

Sandpaper requirements depend on floor size, condition, and the sanding approach. Plan to use multiple grit levels (coarse, medium, and fine) with at least one to two sheets per 100 square feet for each grit. Floors with significant damage or multiple finish layers will require more coarse-grit sheets. Purchase extra supplies before beginning because running out mid-project can cause visible inconsistencies in the final result.
