"Rafael and Lilian Touch were amazing. My 1914 home in Evanston's Lake Shore Historic District is a work in progress. Not long after I moved in, part of the stucco ceiling on the front porch crashed to the ground. I think it goes without saying that it was a revolting and unexpected development. I requested quotes from the usual North Shore/north suburban firms. I received mostly eye-watering quotes that seemed completely unreasonable to me as a commercial property manager and real estate broker. Insurance and industry estimates were around a third of what many of the quotes were. Lilian Touch came out and quickly drafted a quote. They respected my desire to do a patch since we are undecided regarding how long we intend to stay and what we ultimately want to do with the exterior. Once we decided, Rafael was able to get me on the schedule quickly and they were able to complete a stellar job in just two days. Rafael and Lilian were not the least expensive quote, but I felt entirely comfortable with their estimate and I trusted them to stand behind their craftsmanship. The repair looks amazing and blends in near-perfectly. Lilian Touch far exceeded my expectations and should we decide to move forward with the entire house or additional contract work, they will be our first phone call! Highly, highly recommended!"

"Tom and his team did an amazing job repairing and repainting the exterior of our home. The 1880s Victorian style has cedar siding, consisting of a combination of traditional boards and cedar tiles. It had been touched up and well maintained over the years, but no extensive repair or painting had been done. Many of the details, such as the trim around the windows and decorative teeth under the third floor's window trim, had chipped or fallen off. On the wall most exposed to the wind and sun, some siding required repair, a few pieces had to be replaced. Tom's team, led by Sergio, repaired/replaced boards/tiles as necessary, then sanded, primed and repainted all the siding. Their attention to detail was beyond impressive, with the window trim lined perfectly and the decorative accessories, such as the teeth, repaired to its original condition. We were most impressed with how much care the team took at sanding the cedar down to the wood before priming and repainting. The end result is siding that looks brand new. Another plus is they are reasonably priced. We received six quotes and they were in the middle of the pack. I highly recommend Fortune Restoration and Tom and his team. "We had planned to remodel first and second floor bathrooms of our 3 flat someday. Someday became now when a major drain leak from the second floor toilet meant both bathrooms would require demolition to fix the leak. 
We had definite ideas about what we wanted. We had done a small door replacement project with Pryor that had gone well, so we had established a bit of a working relationship with the company and with Mary in the office. We met with a designer recommended by Pryor and they provided some ideas but not a lot of changes to our overall approach. Ridas got involved as the project manager and we refined the detail plan and signed the contract.
When we met with Pete Pryor, he estimated 3 weeks for the work, 4 at the outside. Because of the nature of the project and age of the house (~100 years old) and our positive experience on the door project, we agreed to time and materials instead of fixed price for the project. in spite of some unexpected complexity in doing the demolition and a few changes on the fly, the 4 week time frame proved adequate. 
Ridas kept us informed of what was happening, responded to questions and requests for changes quickly. Despite the number of different trades involved, including sub-contractors, once work started, it moved along continuously with workers scheduled and actually arrived as planned and on time. Quality of work is excellent. When needed, workers stayed late to make sure things stayed on schedule. Plumbing and electrical work were done in a professional manner with improvement not only to current standards but unnecessary pipes were cleaned up and new conduits were placed in the most efficient routes.
Pryor is not the cheapest contractor but they have really lived up to the role of General Contractor, supplying expertise to manage the project and workers (their own and subcontractors), enabling us to worry about what we wanted, decorative and material choices and not have to ride herd on workers. Project has yielded high quality results with beautiful finish and upgrade of the bathrooms and of course fixed the plumbing leak that started this whole project.
