"Utah Valley Landscaping was great to work with. They came out quickly and gave me an estimate on my driveway/ sidewalk concrete project at a reasonable cost. Alex and Chris were very professional and helpful throughout the process. Their workers were also very focused and got a difficult job done quickly. When there was a problem, Alex, Chris and Francisco immediately were there to help resolve the issue! I would highly recommend this company for anyone who has a concrete project in mind!"

"Alan runs a start up Business with his family. They were quick to respond. The concrete was finished 3 days after our initial contact and his price was much better than competing bids. They removed damaged concrete and repoured/finished the new area quickly and professionally. I highly recommend this Concrete company."

"JCR was reliable and showed up when they said they would. They did a great job laying on the concrete pad to extend our basketball court and redoing what needed to be done to put the basketball hoop back up."

Customers say: Quality work

"Carlos and Roxana and their crew were fantastic from the moment they came by to give us a bid to the end when they left us with a beautifully landscaped yardâ and they worked so efficiently, quickly, and professionally that they finished in a week! I have already recommended them to three people. Hiring this company is a win/win: you get a great service and they get to show off how great they are! I look forward to hiring them to do more next spring!"

Small jobs welcome

"We've had so many problems with our valves and sprinkler heads over the years. I called Avant Garde, and Ryan and he was able to come out the next day and fix multiple issues. He was very helpful and pleasant to work with. I'm grateful that I finally found someone who knows what they're doing, and does what they say they will do. After checking around with other companies, I also found them very reasonably priced. I will absolutely recommend them to my friends, and will call them again if I need additional work to be done."

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Lindon, UT

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
