"I contacted many fence companies to replace a section of chain link fence and replace a single gate with a double gate. Responses included 1) they don't do chain link fence any longer, 2) the job was too small to bother with, or 3) they simply didn't return my phone call. However, North Star responded positively, and I could tell after talking with Jeff that customer service is a priority for them. The entire process went extremely well, and we are very pleased with the results. John, the owner, was out within days to prepare a proposal. He is extremely knowledgeable, very friendly and professional, and a pleasure to work with. He also came back out to set the posts, a critical aspect of the job. Installation of the chain link was done very neatly and carefully, yielding a very nice-looking fence. It is exactly what we were looking for. I would strongly recommend North Star Fence."

"I am the mom to 5 adopted special needs kids, and I have never, ever seen someone so kind, thoughtful and understanding of my time, my schedule, and the impact the work would have on us and our lives. He made sure to help me get a discount on the materials I needed by telling me that Menards was having an 11% sale, and it helped me out a ton. He made up a list for me of materials to order and it was very complete and organized and easy to get and have delivered. He also picked up the rest (things he had to get himself) , and made sure I got the receipt to save that 11% as well. He even helped me choose the right paint color, and it looked fabulous when he was done. Was great at recommendations for things, very thorough knowledge of everything I needed done, and you could tell he had been doing this a long time and was very good at it. Every day he showed up on time, and cleaned up after themselves completely. He wasn't even bothered by my kids wanting to see what was going on, or by their requests for leftover materials to "build stuff with". He is so patient and laid back, and just is such an honest hardworking guy who you know right away you can trust. His son was the same way too. (both him and his son worked the whole week together as it was a large project). He probably would have finished up a bit earlier in the week, but as we went along I added a few things which basically ended up being equal to our original hours and bid. When everything was said and done, it was exactly what he had estimated and there were no surprises. You knew everyday where things stood and where you were timewise and with materials because his communication was amazing (even before he started the project too). Now I know why he has such amazing reviews and why he is in such high demand. If you have to wait to get on his schedule, it is totally worth the wait. Quality and workmanship was impeccable. Always made sure to make recommendations that would benefit the customer, both in savings for materials and time. Will definitely hire again and again and again. Best household repair experience we have ever had."

"Excellently. Eric sends out a letter in the spring asking what services, if any the homeowner wants for his/her deck. This year I chose a more limited service but in past years I have had all deck surfaces washed and sealed. Eric or some of his crew do the work and they are timely, always calling before to let you know when they will be there. They are courteous and always clean up. They will also replace bad boards, and do this with expertise."
