Small jobs welcome

"Alonso's team were able to pour a very level pad for my shed. They also laid pavers for a patio surrounding my deck, and they remedied any concerns that I had after installation. Their window well installation exceeded my expectations."

"This company is a pleasure to work with.   <br /> Ron Ash, owner, has a really good combination of expertise, professionalism, and care for the customer.   <br /> Our project was a concrete patio replacement at the back of the home.  It looked easy -- quick demo and quick replace.  But along the way, there were many obstacles to overcome -- extra deep inches of concrete to excavate, rock walls and glass doors to protect, limited slope for drainage, and another concrete slab to tie into. <br /> Ron's expertise and professionalism allowed him to stay cool at every point.  We were able to work together smoothly throughout the process  -- even when the team had to change tactics in demolition and again when they had to pour the concrete deeper than expected to ensure a good final product.  His entire team is kind, respectful, and a joy to have at the house.  I am a hands-on, motivated homeowner who likes to understand and be involved in the process and Ron allowed for that motivation, ensuring a good feeling all-around.   <br /> I have considerable experience with house projects and remodeling and have never written a review for someone who worked on our house.  After working with Ron Ash, I was inspired to do so.  He is able to work constructively, determine a successful course of action, and ensure that the final product is great -- a combination of talent that is not easy to find in Utah. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"Hired Davenport to extend the landscape drain bypass they put in ten years ago that was backing up further downstream during heavy storms. After the storm today no backup at all. Their meticulous work exceeded expectations, ensuring proper sloping with smooth drain pipe less likely to clog. They even avoided three sprinkler lines in the way, hauled away the excess dirt, and didn’t even get dirt on the lawn. I can barely see where the work was done."

"The service was excellent. The railing was sturdy and that was my concern. They were on time. They were here when they said they would. They were friendly when I called them."

"The company is family owned and operated, and it shows. They were very punctual, courteous, and did good work. The final bill was about 30% more than the original estimate, but the reasoning behind the increase was both explained and seemed rational. <br /> Their was also a little bit of miscommunication about what the original estimate included, but this likely could have been avoided if I requested a detailed written estimate, rather than a verbal one. <br /> I also would have liked my final invoice to be much more detailed, but again, I did not explicitly request this. <br /> I would use this company again, but would recommend that customers specifically request a detailed written estimate and invoice. <br />"

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Logan, UT

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
