"Had a retaining wall extending away from our house with a defective brick cap with failing masonry and bricks falling away left and right. We also had several spots on our brick house where the brick either separated or noticeable masonry cracks were developing. Of the two contractors I considered, Pete came by and took his time to understand the issues, match mortar and to propose long-term fixes (the first contractor just looked over photos and planned to repair what was a poor design). During the job, he gave expert advice on what areas to keep an eye on moving forward (i.e. spots where the home brickwork design could be a problem later). He also noticed a neighbor's brick chimney was actually leaning by 5-10 degrees and advised her to think hard about a repair in the near future, noting an expensive repair was far better than a collapsed chimney. In my case, he removed the existing bricks from the top of the retaining wall, preserved the vast majority of them (removed the attached mortar), poured underneath a new concrete base and reinstalled the brickwork in a way that apart from the mortar (lighter white, but essentially identically to existing) was really hard to distinguish from the rest of the house. He also removed / repaired mortar around multiple cracks around the house. And in one tricky area, he removed the outer half of several bricks (which separated on their own) and cut bricks to replace and re-mortar in a way that was again hard to distinguish from the surrounding brickwork. This was a 2 day job for Pete to complete. While the job was a little expensive, it was well worth the investment to make sure that the repairs would fully reestablish the harmony and attractiveness of our exterior brickwork. I am honestly a DIY kind of homeowner who really dislikes bringing in contractors, but there is no way that I could have done this on my own, at least not without leaving behind a series of eyesores... So if you care about your brickwork's useful life and appearance, or you have a complicated repair job, I highly recommend Pete."

"Brent saved us at least $1,500 the last time he was here.  We asked him for  an estimate for replacing our exposed back deck.  He suggested that he pressure wash it and paint it.  That saved us at least $1,000, and it looked great. <br /> <br /> He saved us more money by using the vapor barrier we had already inexpertly installed, and properly re-installed it. He also installed a dehumidifier in the crawlspace. <br /> <br /> We were going to have Brent paint the inside of our screened porch, but he suggested that he first  make repairs to the ceiling, then paint.  It all looks GREAT!  <br /> <br /> Brent is very professional and honest,  communicates extremely well, is punctual, answers any question you have and doesn't talk down to you. He really cares about the quality of his work. It's even a joy to see the way he and Jody consult with each other and brainstorm on how to best complete a project  He is the best contractor we've EVER had the pleasure to work with. And he actually LISTENS to you and hears what you're saying. Priceless!"

"The quote wasn't the lowest I had but with the Angie's List discount it was pretty close. Ben was up front about what additional repair work might be needed once they were on site (like the chimney) The crew showed up promptly every day and did a very professional job. Malcolm was responsive to a few requests I had once they got started. After the job was complete and I had paid, I found a couple of items I had missed during the inspection When I contacted Ben (email works best) he got right back to me and had them fixed with no additional charge. Very pleased with the work overall."
