"Today, Kris and one of his employees came to remedy my complaints.  He explained that he hired a tile layer (who did my job) through a general contractor who he often works with and offered to find the same limestone and have someone else replace the tiles that were gouged, chipped and not layer evenly at no additional cost.  The other alternative was to sand down the lip of the poorly placed tiles and grout.  I chose the later. In addition, they cleaned and grouted areas that they missed before.  
Kris was eager to remedy the problems I identified and put me on his schedule to clean my limestone floors next year at no charge.  He is truly and gentleman, eager to do a good job for me, who had the misfortune of a couple of problem employees who no longer work with him."

"To save money I purchased the materials locally and brought them home, then called Rock Solid for a quote and to arrange the work.  Casey answered the remaining questions that I had, advised that I use natural colored mortar, and quoted the job at a very reasonable price.  Casey then set a date that was convenient for us both.  As it turned out I was called away out of town the day the work was scheduled, so I was a bit nervous not being home to watch, but I called Casey in the middle of the day and he sent me a photo on his camera phone, that set my mind at ease.  The job was proceeding beautifully.  When I returned home that night, the job was nearly complete, with a bit more finish mortar work to be done the next day, which Casey returned and performed.  The job turned out great, and I get many complements on the work from friends and neighbors.  Casey is not done yet though, the final phase of the project is to stucco clad the block wall, which I will contract Rock Solid to do once Springtime arrives."

"George laid out what needed to be done and how he'd do it when he came to bid the work and was also willing to complete some of the half-finished work done by a previous, unexperienced contractor. He didn't try to creep the scope during the course of the work and understood our financial constraints. When we found the need to make a few changes, we negotiated a fair price for a few small add-ons. When the wall repair was much more involved than initially estimated, he brought it up but didn't demand reimbursement. I offered compensation based on what we agreed was fair but didn't feel pressured. They did a good job cleaning up after themselves given how messy leveling floors, cutting tile, and grouting seem to be. My only suggestion would be to work with George on every detail beforehand as I had made some assumptions about aesthetics that may not have been particularly conventional but hadn't communicated them to George. Showing images of how you'd want something to look when it's done will go far in insuring you get what you're after. That having been said I was given some good advice from Felipe on what the height of the kitchen backsplashes should be in our particular case, and from George on which grout would be best suited for our floors and have no regrets having followed those suggestions. In our case, we supplied most of the materials as per George's recommendations. If you want your project to move as quickly as possible, I'd suggest making a list with George of what materials you'll need, what you'll be picking up and what he'll be picking up, and having everything ready on the first day because they waste no time in getting the work done. In short, both George and his colleague, Felipe, work very efficiently with a high level of craftsmanship and I'll hire them again the next time I need tile work done."

"Quality of service was excellent over a 17-day permitted job for full bathroom remodel in 2 bedroom/1 bath single family home. Job included removing two windows and putting in one new window, demo to the studs, new electrical, new plumbing, new walls, lighting, exhaust fan, installation of marble floor and wall tile, installation of new tub and toilet, vanity, quartz vanity counter top with back and side splashes, linen closet, new door and frame, sconces, LED recessed lighting, paint, stucco on exterior, etc. From the initial estimate to the final inspection, Itay was our main point of contact. Very professional and responsive by text and cell phone. Worked six days a week to finish the job with workers at the house from 7am to 5pm most days. The framers, tile workers, painter/cabinet installer, and especially Conrado the plumber were great to work with. The lead foreman, Gabby, was also a real pleasure to work with and caught problems before I did. Only hiccups on the job were either missing fixture parts on my end, or a delayed City inspection due to the weekend. Itay and United Builders of LA are the right guys with great prices, excellent quality, and respectable, professional crew. Can't wait for my HVAC replacement next year!
