"Greg did excellent work on a bathroom remodeling project for a rental house in Grandview. He first removed damaged sheetrock, then he treated the area for mold. He replaced the damaged sheetrock with cement board and installed new tiles. In addition to the original work, he had to re-install plumbing and add new insulation. He showed great patience during the project as the tenant obstructed his work hours, making entry into the house a challenge. The finished bathroom looks great!"

"Seth was very professional, thorough, and communicated very well. He was punctual and the quality of work was outstanding. I would highly recommend him. Seth replaced all of the base moldings, painted all of the trim, fixed some dry wall cracks, put several new thresholds in, and replaced our front door. We will definitely be using him again. Thanks"

"Oliver is such a great guy and awesome to work with. I rate him an A+ as a person. His one side fall is he does not perform enough quality control oversight throughout project. His workers made several mistakes that I had to go back and repair. They removed old paneling from our basement and put up Sheetrock. The ugly shag carpet was going to be after the Sheetrock and painting so I rips them not worry about damaging the floors. Here are a few of the mistakes they made (I have pictures if needed) 1. They sheetrocked over my return vent. I had locate the duct work. Cut a new hole and install it myself. 2. They Sheetrocked over the cable tv outlet. I had to locate the spot and pull the line though myself. 3. They left all the electrical outlets just sitting without attaching them to anything, and did not replace the plates. 4. This is the biggest one of all- I did not notice until after they left. They did not Sheetrock to the base of each step. The paneling ran down to the base of each step (as it should). They only Sheetrocked down to the top of the long shag carpet. There is now a 1/2 to 1 inch gap. They should have called me and asked if only wanted my Sheetrock to run from the ceiling to 1 inch above the base of the steps. I am still unsure how to fix this- I will probably have to spend even more money and put up wood trim to cover the bottom- I am putting in a very low pile carpet. Although I imagine there is literally no person who would want that. They did a lot of work on my house including the Sheetrock in my bathroom and were here for nearly a week. 95% of the work turned out great so I imagine they would be great for a smaller job that you as the homeowner can supervise more frequently. Unfortunately I was working most of the time and not able to get away. I won?t make that mistake again. Feel free to email me at Shasta040136@gmail.com if want to view some pictures (great and not so great too)"

Customers say: Quick response

"After having serious flood damage to the mansion in 2019, our project Manager introduced us to Dan and Earthon Concepts. The mansion is a very large house and needed serious structure work. Dan came in and was able to do the extensive work in the basement which including building a strong steel frame to secure the three-story 12,000 sq. ft. home so it could stand tall for another 100 yrs. The next project he took on was to rebuild the elaborate main porch, matching the design and workmanship done over a hundred and fifty-five years ago which he was able to do flawlessly. He and his crew have fantastic personalities and were a lot of fun to have here and joke with as I watched my beautiful home come back to life. I am a man with many words and still could not find enough to say how much I would recommend this company to anyone looking for strong work ethics and devoted builders to bring back the history of your home as they did mine. I look forward to working on the 2nd and 3rd floors with them in the future. Donn Upp"

FAQs for interior trim and decorative moldings installation projects in Lone Jack, MO

Installing crown molding can be challenging, depending on the material and your skill level. Lightweight materials like polystyrene and softwoods are easier for homeowners to install themselves, offering a cost-saving option. However, heavier materials like hardwoods and plaster are difficult to work with and require professional installation to achieve a high-quality result. Precision is crucial in measuring, cutting, and fitting crown molding, so hiring a professional ensures the best outcome.

Crown molding is available at various price points, ranging from $1 to $30 per linear foot, depending on the material. This wide range offers options for every budget. Affordable materials like MDF, PVC, and polystyrene provide cost-effective solutions, while premium materials like exotic hardwoods or metal offer a luxurious appearance at a higher cost. Regardless of your budget, you can find crown molding that enhances your home's aesthetic.

Crown molding is installed by professional finish carpenters or painters who specialize in detailed trim work. These experts possess the necessary skills and tools to ensure precise measurements, accurate cuts, and seamless installation. By hiring a professional, you can achieve a flawless finish that enhances your home's aesthetic appeal without the risk of common DIY mistakes.

Crown molding can be installed in various areas of your house to add elegance and architectural interest. It is commonly used where walls meet the ceiling, but you can also place crown molding around doors, windows, mirrors, and atop cabinets. Installing crown molding in these locations enhances visual appeal, creates a cohesive design, and adds a touch of sophistication to your home's interior.

To determine how much crown molding to purchase, start by measuring the length of each wall where you plan to install crown molding and add the measurements together to determine the total linear feet required. Purchase an extra 10% of material to account for waste from cutting angles and to ensure seamless joints by using full-length pieces when possible. Including additional material helps avoid shortages and ensures a smooth installation process.

For a professional crown molding installer, this task takes about 1 to 3 hours per room, depending on size and complexity. Factors like the material, design intricacy, and number of corners can affect the time. If you're doing it yourself, expect it to take longer as you get the hang of measuring and cutting precise angles. Advanced measuring and planning or hiring a pro can help the project go smoothly.
