"Let me start by saying, I had never met anyone from this company before. I needed someone to install a vanity and counter/sink in the bathroom. The experience was superb! On time, extremely professional, I purchased the wrong vanity style. Instead of telling me to go back and get the right vanity for the bathroom, they listened to what I really needed and creatively found ways to work around the challenges of the project. Made a special trip to the store to pick up additional items due to the change of plans. This not only indicated the level of expertise and ability to add value to my project while helping me manage costs, but also their willingness to ensure that I was pleased with the work. While this was a relatively small project, I am so pleased with the work that I am looking forward to larger projects in the very near future. I will also add that the value for the price cannot not be beat. Beside being knowledgeable, they will explain each step of the way what is happening. They went the extra mile to ensure needed parts were correct. Checks and rechecks the work for accuracy. I can't say enough about the work, professionalism, expertise, and customer care they provided me. This is my contractor for all future bathroom and kitchen improvements. Thanks Byblos Home Improvement,Inc!"

"Within an hour of purchasing the advertised special, Henry from B A R called us to set up an appointment for service. He seemed knowledgeable and showed up promptly to our appointed time. After working on the unit for about an hour he determined that the unit had died and there was no hope reviving it - it was 14 years old after all. WIthin a few days Henry was back and installed our new unit. Around the time he installed our unit, our second unit died. We had him replace it as well. The work was done in a timely manner and we have been completely satisfied. We would definitely hire B A R Appliances again for our HVAC needs."

"The installers were on time and finished in a timely manner. They covered the entire work area with tarp and completely cleaned up when they were done. They walked me through everything they had done and had the permit application with them. They even fixed a minor leak with the hot water duct they discovered while checking the equipment."

FAQs for appliance (microwave oven) installation and replacement projects in Long-green, MD

A pro can finish the job in one to three hours. Countertop models are the quickest, but built-in, drawer, and over-the-range units take longer because the installer may need to run a new outlet, modify cabinets, or add venting. Any add-ons can push the timeline closer to the three-hour mark. Hiring a licensed installer ensures the wiring is safe and the appliance operates at peak performance.

Because an over-the-range microwave doubles as a range hood, it needs proper venting. You can opt for a recirculating model that filters and recirculates air back into the kitchen, or a ducted unit that exhausts outdoors. Are you unsure which route suits your cooking style? Ask your installer for guidance before making a purchase.

Only microwaves labeled “over-the-range” have the built-in venting and lighting that’s necessary for safe, code-compliant use above a stove. Countertop models don’t have those safeguards. Before you swipe your card, have a licensed microwave installer confirm you’re choosing the right unit for the space and ensure compliance with local codes.

It’s best not to install a countertop microwave in your cabinets. Countertop models aren’t designed for use in an enclosed cabinet, and blocking those vents can trap moisture or even create a fire hazard. A built-in or drawer microwave is designed for tight spaces. Run your plans by an installer to make sure you’re buying the right style for the spot.

You don’t need an electrician if the outlet already meets the microwave’s power needs and sits in the right spot. In that case, you’re good to go ahead with the installation. If the outlet is undersized, outdated, or too far away, hire a licensed electrician to install a new one and ensure everything is code-compliant.

With routine care, most microwaves last between five and 10 years. To help them reach their maximum lifespan, wipe up spills immediately, wash the grease filter periodically, avoid using metal dishware, and close the door gently. Those simple habits reduce malfunctions and keep the appliance running smoothly for the long haul.
