"Castlerock Outdoor Creations has exceeded my expectations in every way. For the past 35 years, I was a very discerning customer for a fortune 50 company responsible for managing and working with construction and maintenance contractors. Without a doubt, Castlerock is among the finest organizations around. Chris has assembled a team of skilled craftsmen that take pride in all that they do. From the time they greet you, to the time they finish work, they are courteous, professional, and focused on the details. My patio installation was flawless and completed on-time. Overall, you will not find a better value for the price, craftsmanship, and customer service. Chris and his team deliver on every promise. It was a pleasure doing business with Castlerock Outdoor Creations. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for hard and soft scape work around their home or place of business."

Customers say: Super punctual

"It went very well. Done in two phases due to seasons. Very friendly and helpful workers. Good craftsmanship, 4 raised beds . Filled with rocks for drainage and fill soil- would have preferred garden soil. Roots were not removed fully from old bushes. Would have preferred all surface roots removed. Beds were cleaned out and river rock replaced lava rock, the new edging was great. Trees-crepe myrtles - three planted, good size , really pretty. Arborvitae and Italian cypress were very small, not what I expected, would have preferred bigger but cypress not available due to season. Overal, quite happy."

"They were amazing! The owner is a great guy & totally honest 110%! We had 2 other Contractors that I called & they didnâ t want to use the brick I purchased already. They get there own brick and it all goes thru them ð Think about how stupid the other 2 contractors were. They turned down the job because they wanted there own brick and the Kanye to do the actual job was still $400 higher than what I paid ! When he came to measure correctly ( I fired my husband! 6m of moving dirt & sand 𠤬unacceptable) and then discussed what we wanted & suggested same design & made a larger for our ASTRO!! YAY THANKS ð Back to my amazing new patio with gorgeous Astro turf They fixed my husband disaster perfectly! They came in & knocked out that patio in no time ! I was amazed everything was wrapped up & cleaned up in no time .. who can ask for more ! Iâ m really thrilled we found him by pure luck ð Price by far the best ð ð ð ð Thanks for everything see you soon ð PS Iâ m still. waiting on an estimate ð"

"The quality of the work performed was excellent. I am very pleased with the appearance of the replaced section of my driveway The front steps now look as good as new, as well. The cost exceeded the initial estimate, but I have to give them a pass on that, as there were some real surprises during removal of the old concrete (no grade preparation was done for the original driveway, just concrete poured over uneven ground, so in places it was 4" thick, and in others about 12" thick, making removal very difficult). Carlos Concrete did a good job with leveling the site and placing stone over the ground before pouring, and that should result in a better driveway long-term. My only reservation was a delay in removing the tree roots excavated from the site before pouring the new driveway section. They were professional and friendly."

"They came out and did a good job. I wouldn't buy it again. It was fine. I don't remember there being a problem. We still had stuff in the backyard that we had to get rid of ourselves. It was just how the deal was."

FAQs for brick and stone patios, walks, and steps installation projects in Longs, SC

When cleaning your flagstone patio, begin by gently hosing off loose dirt and debris. Use a mild solution of white vinegar and water or diluted dish soap to scrub the surface with a soft-bristled brush. Avoid using abrasive tools, such as wire brushes, as they can damage the stone’s seal and finish. This careful approach effectively removes mold and grime while preserving the natural beauty of your patio.

Flagstone naturally offers a neutral palette that includes shades of grey, black, red, yellow, brown, and tan, and its inherent color cannot be altered. Choosing varieties like bluestone provides a subtle bluish tint that complements many exterior designs. These natural hues enhance curb appeal and create a refined, timeless look in your outdoor space, ensuring a sophisticated finish with minimal upkeep.

Flagstone for a patio must have a minimum thickness of 1.5 inches to reliably support furniture and foot traffic. Using stone that is two to three inches thick is recommended to ensure lasting durability. The increased thickness prevents cracking under load and enhances long-term performance. Investing in thicker flagstone provides superior stability and resistance to weather conditions, ensuring your outdoor space remains both safe and attractive.

You can paint a flagstone patio by using a high-quality, outdoor elastomeric latex paint designed for heavy foot traffic. Painting not only refreshes the patio’s appearance but also creates a waterproof barrier that protects the stone from damage. Regular reapplication every one to two years maintains its durability and visual appeal, ensuring your patio remains both stylish and well-protected.
