"Excellent company to work with. I was searching for a painter to paint several rooms inside my home where sheetrock had been replaced. I called several companies for bids, but 5 Star Painting was by far the best option for us. When I was calling for bids several companies said they were too busy, one even came out and looked at the project and then told me they were too busy. I called 5 Star and received a message that they were on vacation. I went to the website and found a option to request a bid so they would see it when they were back in the office the following week. I was very shocked to receive a response within minutes to my request. It was not a canned response, it was a live person (Patty) advising me they received my request, but were on vacation. However, they would be in touch as soon as they got back to schedule a walk through. The customer service had already won me over, but then Shad came in and completed a walk through. He made us feel like we actually mattered and he wanted to help us complete our work. It was not long after we received a bid that we decided to hire them. They got us on the schedule in a matter of a few days (not weeks like other companies had proposed). Shad and his team came in and did an amazing job painting the interior of my house. I will absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a painter and will be using them again for future painting projects."

"Revive Painting painted our entire home exterior, siding, trim, gutters, columns, and chimney. They used a solid color stain on quite an extensive deck and deck framing. And, a clear stain on the underside (exposed raw 2x6 T&G Car Decking) of two gazebos/pergolas and a deck roof cover. They also moved heavy items off the deck and are willing to return and put the items back on the deck once the stain has cured. They also painted our shed including a metal roof the surrounding rusted galvanized dog enclosure and the faded vinyl fencing on our Sport Court. I found David Beer and his entire crew to be professional, talented, capable, and efficient. All had a tremendous work ethic. They were very friendly and a pleasure to work with! They required no up-front partial payment, collecting only after the job was completed. I would definitely use them again for all our painting needs. And recommend them to anyone desirous of a quality finished product using the best materials and the right materials for the task. And, a number of people out for a walk, passing by on our sidewalk have stated how great the house looks! Thank you David Beer and Crew of Revive Painting!"

"Brock was very dependable and worked with us on a small project, painting and caulking exterior of our two story house. He also offered to fix our cobbled together bird screens on our vents and they look great. I appreciate the communication with a contractor, it doesn't always happen and it did with Brock."

"Elias Contruction provided a detailed estimate after inspecting the roof and making some qualified recommendations. The project required a few change orders that were not clarified in writing. I would recommend hiring Elias if you get changes in writing. They cleaned up pretty well although they missed a few things due to finishing in the dark. Overall satisfied with the job and cost was 60% of other bids due to sheathing adjustment."

"I requested four bids for exterior paint of our mid century English Cottage style home. One bid never showed up, one was extremely high ($21,000) and the other two were Alpha Contractors, LLC and another company. Jay's bid (of $5,000) was much lower than the other qualifying bid so we took it and we don't regret it. Weather delayed the paint process a couple of weeks but, once the skies cleared, team leader Alfonso and crew really went to work. We have a one and one-half story wood shake home (with brick; not painted) and the crew was up to the task, scraping off paint, priming the bare spots and caulking "everything" with great efficiency and attention to detail. We also had two wood damaged window sills and the crew repaired them without any extra charge. Alpha started the paint process the following day and completed the job within the next 36 hours! Our house has a lot of exterior nooks and crannies and three types of windows (vinyl/fiberglass, wood, leaded glass) and Alfonso and crew did a great job with our body and trim paint. Once again, Alfonso paid great attention to detail and guided the friendly crew to the finish. All trash was removed from the site upon completion of the project. We highly recommended Alpha Contractors, LLC. Cost: $5,000."

FAQs for small projects painting or staining projects in Longview, WA

You'll need about two gallons of paint to fully cover your kitchen cabinets with two coats. Since each gallon covers around 350 square feet, it's a good idea to measure your cabinets or use a paint calculator to determine exactly how much you'll need. Starting with one or two coats of primer and then applying two to three layers of paint will give you a flawless, durable finish. Using high-quality paint can reduce the number of coats needed and provide a long-lasting finish.

The best type of paint for your kitchen cabinets is latex paint because it applies evenly and creates a durable finish. If you're painting wood surfaces and need extra adhesion, acrylic paint is a great alternative. We don't recommend oil-based paint for residential use due to its VOC emissions. For finishes, go with eggshell, semi-gloss, gloss, or satin, as matte finishes aren't as durable or as easy to clean.

The best method for painting kitchen cabinets is spray painting because it gives you a smooth, even finish without brush strokes. While brushes and rollers can work, they often leave marks and require more effort. If you're aiming for a professional look, spray painting is your best bet to enhance the beauty and durability of your cabinets.
