"When the roof of my home showed signs of wind and hail damage, I asked a friend which company she had used to replace her roof a few years earlier. She said her insurance company had recommended JZ Roofing and that she was happy with the work they had done. I called JZ and spoke with the owner, Jose Rodriguez, and arranged for a free roof inspection. Jose found sufficient hail damage to warrant an insurance claim and walked me through the entire process. Even though the insurance adjuster made an appointment to check the roof on a Sunday, Jose made himself available to be here with the adjuster to go over his findings. I am the first to admit that I am a very indecisive person, so choosing a color for the shingles was pretty difficult for me. Jose went out of his way to help me make the right decision. First, he brought over samples for me to look at, then he gave me nearby addresses of houses he had done, using the colors I was considering, so I could see what they looked like on actual homes. When I finally made a choice and the shingles were delivered, Jose even came out to place a few shingles on my roof so I would feel sure of my decision. I couldn't believe how patient he was. The roof had 2 layers of shingles from previous jobs. Jose's team removed the old shingles and had the new roof in place in a day and a half. The best part was, JZ does more than just roofing jobs, so they were able to paint my porch railings and garage door as well as repair/replace my wooden fence without my having to find another contractor. JZ completed everything in a timely manner and I am very happy with the results. Jose was great to work with and made the whole process very easy for me. I would definitely recommend this company."

"Fantastic. Redeemer filled all of the voids under the entire driveway - literally at least 1/3 of the driveway had zero support underneath it because the ground had washed away. The Whole driveway is now level and all the cracks are repaired."

"

Jim and his team of helpers--Allen in particular--recreated my kitchen, living, dining, and laundry areas.  Their first project was installing two high line toilets in the bath areas.  With Jim's guidance, the decision was made to take down the two kitchen cabinets and wall that blocked the view to the living, dining and deck areas.  Jim suggested the door from the dining area to the guest room be closed in so we could move the refrigerator to that area and build storage cabinets in the previous refrigerator space.  It was decided that an appliance garage would be built about the counter to hide the coffee pot, toaster, can opener and two large drawers would be built below the counter to hold dinner plates, cups, saucers, bowls and other kitchen items.  Instead of losing cabinet space, we added several square feet of beautiful new cabinets as well as a total of four drawers!  Pull out drawers were installed in each of the cabinet areas as well as under the sink making it very easy to access the trash can and cleaning products under the sink.

Jim and Allen worked diligently to frame out the kitchen bar so that the area would be level for the granite installation.  Electrical work was relocated so lights, electrical outlets and garbage disposal elements were included in the granite design. With the addition of the white Taj Mahal granite, this area is now a key focal point of the room and a beautiful design element.

Since wall space was limited in the living area, the coat closet opening was covered and the opening moved to the laundry room, thus providing much needed space for decorative accessories. Jim's experience in remodeling townhomes lead him to suggest that a vent be installed over the stove and place the microwave in the newly built cabinet.

Ceiling fans were wired in to the living room and master bedroom.  Fluorescent ceiling lighting was re-routed.  A rolling storage cart was created with the two cabinets that were removed from the kitchen and the property is ready for renters to enjoy the beauty both indoors and outdoors at this Segovia Lake property.  Jim will be returning to do a covering for the deck once this homeowner has saved up some more money.  Jim is a true professional who is honest, works hard, and gets the job done in a timely fashion with reasonable pricing.  My mother and I contracted with him in 2012 in her $25,000 remodeling job.  He has exceeded our expectations in both projects.  He has a keen grasp of costs of materials and labor and he willingly shares his knowledge with his customers.

"These guys are fantastic, real lifesavers that care about the little people. They are good at speedy correspondence, treating their clients with respect, sending appropriate paperwork in a timely manner, and explaining the procedures. Mr. Burks knows about asbestos abatement and how to carry it out according to the protocol required by state law. In Arkansas, state law requires you to have a third party to measure and approve the air quality when removing asbestos. Sure enough, a third party EPA employee arrived in his own vehicle and watched the process from start (prepping the house to secure it from escaping hazardous dust) to finish (measuring the final air quality for approval). Airtecs Environmental then bags everything to be taken to a special hazardous waste site. So it is from cradle to grave. The whole process is documented in paper work and that is peace of mind. Mr. Burks’ team were good natured and hardworking. In addition to the ceiling the team removed the shag carpet and foam as I was looking to remove it. They saved me so much time and backbreaking work! And as for the house well, I cannot express how amazing the air quality is! If you are still unsure read the long of it below and save yourself the time. I wanted to remove an Asbestos ceiling that was showing signs of damage due to shifting foundation. Between the ceiling and the old shag carpet I was concerned about my father’s air quality. Initially I was going to remove the acoustic ceiling myself, but after researching about this hazardous material it became clear that removing Asbestos responsibly was the best way to guarantee a safe space in the future. Now, it is strangely difficult to find a good Abatement team, considering how many houses must have this issue. Calling Airtecs Environmental, I was impressed with how easy they were to contact and quick in respond to my requests. Based my research about asbestos abatement procedures and the Arkansas State laws, it was clear that Mr. Burks was really knowledgeable with hands on experience. Because my father is retired and has a small budget, I called other companies to get a few quotes based on our square footage. Here is what we encountered. There were cowboy removal services, with prices that seemed too good to be true. Well yeah, they were basically offering a regular popcorn removal, avoiding paperwork, with no guarantees for air quality, and making the client dispose of the hazardous materials themselves! If you go that route, you might as well do it yourself and pay nothing. On the opposite end of the spectrum…I found most companies were completely uninterested in small homes! To illustrate this they would take days to respond to emails, and explain that they mostly work on industrial sized projects and in turn their quotes reflected industrial sized robbery. There is simply nobody else in the state willing to take on residential homes following strict procedures at a reasonable rate. I am so glad Mr. Burks and his team, are out there for the average person like me who is trying to do things the right way! Good Peoples! Thank you, thank you!"

"Hernandez Brothers Roofing team performed an amazing job on my roof repair. This included a complete removal of old shingles, repairs to decking in multiple areas, installing new drip rail all the way around, new roof vents and painting of vent pipes.  The color for shingles were exactly what I requested. Simply Beautiful!  Team was also phonemonial in their cleanup...even cleaned light debris that fell on the porch and steps. One day was all they needed..They were very prompt on their arrival and show much attention to detail. They came with a plan of attack and the results were fantastic.  This Hernandez Brothers Roof team are true professionals that delivered a quality product. Thankful and greatful for their service.  I HIGHLY recommend them for you roofing needs.  Thanks Hernandez Brothers."

FAQs for natural slate roofing repair projects in Lonsdale, AR

If more than 30% of your slate roof is damaged, it's time to consider a full replacement. This will prevent further deterioration and avoid costly recurring repairs. A professional slate inspection (costing between $130 and $360) can confirm whether repairs are sufficient or if a full roof replacement is the better option.

A slate roof can last anywhere from 60 to 150 years, depending on factors like installation quality, regular maintenance and repairs, and local weather conditions. Compared to materials like clay and concrete, which often last around 50 years, a well-maintained slate roof offers superior longevity, durability, and long-lasting aesthetic appeal.

Yes, you can use temporary patch solutions, such as roofing cement or patchwork, to provide immediate relief for minor leaks or underlayment issues observed from inside your home. However, these provisional fixes do not replace the need for a permanent, professional exterior repair, which is necessary to ensure the long-term integrity and weather resistance of your slate roof.
