The technician said there was a $500 diagnostic fee, but no charge if he couldn?t get it running. His ?diagnostics? were guessing it might be a bird?s nest (it wasn?t) and blowing into the pilot area. No proper tools were used. He left at 3:40 pm and returned at 4:09 pm. While writing the invoice, the fireplace shut off again. He then guessed it was the thermostat and quoted $1,200, saying the $500 would apply. There was no confirmation this was the issue. I later found the thermostat online for $86. The invoice states ?could not get it running,? yet I was still charged $500. Customer service showed no concern. Overall, unprofessional, overpriced, do not recommend."
