"Service was fast, efficient, professional and friendly. I didn't have much hope for my 12-year-old carpet, but it really came back to life, especially in the high traffic areas. The tile and grout look great, too. Definitely an excellent job!"

"This was a steam cleaning outfit, which I was not aware of. The worker did a good job, just that I wanted a scrub brush and soap and water. Not the workers or the companies fault. Now please do not contact me again!"

"Ryan and Nick are responsive and prompt, they kept in continuous contact with me via text to schedule my appointment and the day of, prior to their arrival. The work quality was good, I needed them to replaces the edge of the carpet in the doorways where the nails were exposed. After texting Ryan pictures, they quoted me $300 to fix five areas, and charged me $321 (7% fuel charge was $21). They asked for payment before the work was completed. They borrowed my vacuum to leave the workspace clean and put it away when they were done. They were both very friendly, offered fabric spot cleaning and maintenance advice for our carpets and furniture. I inspected the work before they left and two of the repaired areas were "bubbling" so I could see the nails underneath. I pointed this out to Nick and he pushed the carpet back down with his keys. While working, Nick asked about my religion, among other things, and encouraged me to visit his preferred church. He shared with me personal stories about loss of loved ones and his revelations through religion that have changed his life. It was pretty odd but I believe good intentioned. Nick told me to call if anything they worked on needed attention."

"The 2-man crew showed up at the appointed time and vacummed the entire carpeted areas to be cleaned. They used a specific machine  designed to scrub, rinse, lift the pile and extract the dirty residue. All and all I thought the job was well done.  My carpets were not excessively dirty but the results were acceptable.  The hight traffic area in front of my husband's recliner did not turn out as well as the rest of the carpet. It took approximately 10 hours to dry enough to re-vacuum and put furniture back. The carpet was cleaned by 11 am on the scheduled day and I revacuumed and put furniture back the following morning.

"I needed to find someone to help me move, at the last minute when my help canceled on me. Ty came through with a truck and 2 assistants. They moved everything out of my apt in 2 1/2 hours. Would definitely use them again."

FAQs for carpet repair, refasten, or stretch projects in Malabar, FL

Removing a rug costs around $0.40 to $0.50 per square foot. This includes the fee for a contractor to roll up the rug and haul it away in a vehicle for disposal or recycling. If they need to move furniture, they might charge an additional $0.25 to $0.30 per square foot of furniture.

If your carpet has minor damage—like a single area that requires stretching, patching, or cleaning—it might be less expensive to pay for carpet repair than remove and replace it. Repairing carpet costs around $210 per project.

The cost of carpet cleaning is about $190 for a three-bedroom home, so it’s a good idea to have your carpet cleaned at least once a year. But most carpeting only lasts 10 years. If your carpet is nearing the end of its life span, it might be more cost-effective to remove and replace your carpet than to clean and repair it. The average cost to install a new carpet is about $1,800.

Search our directory of carpet removal companies and services to find an affordable, screened contractor near you. All HomeAdvisor listings are vetted, reviewed, and rated by homeowners, so you can be sure to find a local pro qualified for your project. Get at least three quotes to compare prices and the timeline for your project.

Commercial carpet removal usually costs on the lower end of the carpet removal price range, around $1.10 per square foot or even less. Carpet installation contractors often offer discounted rates for larger projects, like commercial carpet removal and installation. Similarly, you might be able to negotiate a lower residential carpet removal cost if the carpet is pulled up throughout your entire home.

Most cities accept old carpets as bulk trash, but you may need to schedule a special pickup and prepare the carpet properly. Remove any nails or glue residue, cut the carpet into manageable pieces, and roll and secure them. Alternatively, you can take your old carpet to a local recycling center for a small fee, where it can be processed and repurposed.

Yes, you can remove carpet yourself if you're ready for a labor-intensive task. DIY carpet removal requires heavy lifting and tools like utility knives, pliers, and pry bars. The process is generally straightforward but time-consuming for stapled-down carpet. If your carpet is glued down or you're worried about damaging the subfloor, hiring a professional is best to ensure the job is done safely and efficiently.
