"This was money well spent. Our roof is light gray and black streaks as well as moss were highly visible from the ground, detracting from the overall appearance of our house. Moreover the mildew reduces the life of the roof. Now it looks like new again. Thiago is thorough, professional and responsible."

"Great!!!! They showed up on time. Did an excellent job on the German Schmear project. I had on side of my house done and will do another side next year. It looks wonderful and fixed all my bad brick issues. They did point out of a few other issues and fixed them as well. I would recommend them to anyone. Had my chimneys redone last year with them and they look great too."

"Overall they did a very good job. Like most companies they have their preferred vinyl window that they use, but I knew I wanted Andersen 400 wood windows. As for the siding, I hadn't done much research on siding but Carl had a good option with full-back insulation. He did a good job of matching siding that I have on my sunroom (which was just a few years old). He was very responsive in returning my phone calls/emails,etc when I had questions. I had quotes from 4-5 other companies and his price was very competitive. I must admit, it made me a little nervous but it worked out..... I would have preferred a more detailed estimate though. Most other companies do estimates by email or they mail you a very detailed estimate. Carl did a hand written estimate on the spot ... again, not a big deal but there were a few things that I had to ask about (eg he didn't have housewrap on the estimate but did put that on...) One of the things I was concerned about was losing glass area with replacement windows. Carl and Tim assured me that I wouldn't lose any glass area, but , in reality, I did lose about one inch of glass space per window. That was a bit disappointing but I guess when you are doing replacement windows, that's what happens. Regarding installation/work itself: The window delivery came at 7am and took me by surprise.... When the crew showed up around 9am I mentioned it and apparently the delivery folks were supposed to give the crew a heads up so they could notify me but that didn't happen. It was a very cold, windy two days when they did the installation . They were very efficient and hard working. They discovered two large holes when they removed the old siding and patched them up with plywood before putting housewrap on. The window installation went well - although there are several areas where the window frame/wallpaper/wall are chipped - I guess that happens - in hindsight I probably should have gone with "full frame" replacement - although Carl should the frames were in good shape .... but I probably should have spent a nominal amount and done full frame replacement.... Problem areas: Crew left numerous nails around the property which I am still finding. I don't know if they used a magnet to try and find them. Even though they told me they would probably have to "trim" some azaleas bushes that I have outside the kitchen window they really butchered them which shocked me.... I can understand that they needed to access the area, but would have preferred that they warned me about that before they did it.... It definitely was not a "trim" ..... The caulking on the interior seems to me to be too wide of a bead. I had Kenny (foreman) come out but he said that's how it should be.... I was comparing it to my sunroom and to my neighbor's house, where the caulking bead was much thinner..... I may redo it myself, or see how it looks once I've painted the trim.... Overall, I would give them a 4.5 out of 5 .... not perfect but pretty close. I can't comment about any warranty work (both are supposedly lifetime..) ."

"We were getting ready to put our home on the market and decided to replace an exterior double door. The frame had bad spots. Ed from PHI came over and verified that it wasn't just the exterior trim, but that the door frame was bad. He suggested options and pointed out different price points that we could use in selecting the replacement. Once the door arrive, the install was quick and very nicely done. No damage to the property, no mess left behind; just a good install. Even little things, like a smooth caulk line at the door seam were done well. I would definitely use them again in the future. Give them a try!"

"Team along with company owner arrived early and covered shrubs and grass around house with tarps, parked dump trailer in driveway for trash. Multiple guys on roof stripping off shingles and two guys on ground cleaning up as they worked. Roof underpayment and drip edge was on before lunch. With only about three and a half hours of daylight left, 9 guys all went to work on laying 30 squares of shingles, ridge vent and caps finishing the job in one day. Yard was cleaned up and nails were removed with a magnet, yard was left just as they found it. Evan’s Roofing team was experienced and very professional, using quality Owings Corning roofing products to complete the job. This is the second roof they have done for my family this year and they will be doing two more family houses in the spring. Definitely would recommend Evans Quality Roofing to anyone needing.a new roof or roof repair."

"From the estimate to the installation Paul and his crew were awesome. My wife and I were very nervous about the preparation we had to perform, curtains down, furniture moved etc. We also expected some drywall and paint damage. We're both older so this was a huge albatross and as such we kept putting it off. We finally decided to bite the bullet and get it done so I asked Brian Henry if he could come out to review my furniture moving plan to assure we gave them the required space. He came out and was extremely professional, helpful and put us completely at ease. Several weeks later Brad and James were out to install the windows and three days later were done with absolutely zero damage to drywall or paint. And in fact since the bay windows were primed they didn't even need painting although we'll do it anyway. To top it off, they even protected our landscape in front of our widows and all plants survived. Brad and James were polite and meticulous with the installation. They covered everything up inside our house and put down extra thick tarps. They were punctual in starting each day and finishing. They patiently answered all our questions addressing our concerns. And they were complete in 3 days as we were told. Once they were gone, you couldn’t tell they’d even been here. In fact, I looked around and commented to my wife that we’d never spent so much money on something we couldn’t even see. To be clear the windows looked almost identical to those that were removed except for these being brand new. I do expect our electric bill will be reduced and I suspect they will be a good selling point when we move. Finally, the cost was very fair, I had reached out to two other firms and both were substantially higher. The original windows had also been installed by Paul Henry so I was very comfortable even though his costs was lower. Bottom line, we highly recommend Paul Henry Windows."

"Donna, Thank you so much for your service. Steve was the consummate professional. I turned things over to him and never looked back. And when I finally went into the kitchen at the end of the party, all the food had been pulled and put away. All the dishes and cutlery had been washed. I would definitely recommend Steve and your service if asked and will definitely reach out for my next party. Many thanks again. Rich G."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Manassas, VA

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
