"Repair went smoother than I expected and was less costly than expected. I did get a quote for refinishing the door as well and it was a very good price. Ended up not doing that because we are selling the house, but would have if we were staying."

"The work was done very, very well. Alex gave us by-far the best quote for the work needed and didn't try to over-sell us things we didn't need. Alex did a perfect job installing a brand-new, high-tech Chamberlain motor to this second door and fixed the broken panel perfectly to match the other panels and the other door. In addition, he reinforced BOTH doors to make them stronger and prevent future breaks. He also modified BOTH doors to make them substantially quieter to open and close. The main door has a very old motor and used to be super loud when it was being opened or closed. Now, it is maybe 30% as loud as it used to be--a significant reduction. Alex also hit an unfortunate road-block when we realized we had bad-wiring in the house. He spent many extra, unanticipated hours working in the heat of the Texas summer to resolve the issue. He did an AMAZING job and is EXTREMELY professional and honest! Next time we or a friend need to have a garage motor replaced or fixed, we will be sure to give him a call! TLDR - Hire Garage Door King Services if: 1.) You want an HONEST assessment of your garage door situation. 2.) You DON'T want to be sold extra things that aren't necessary to resolve your issue. 3.) You want a FAIR price for the work being done. 4.) You want a commitment to EXCELLENCE and PROFESSIONALISM from the person you have asked for help."

"Summary Good: My initial experience with this company was wonderful. There price was competitive, the sales person was initially very involved and responsive, and the initial installers were extremely professional. When problems arose with the second installers, the installation supervisor was responsive and professional. Bad: The final product fails to meet significant functional needs and expectations that were clearly expressed pre-purchase. The design flaws have not been addressed. Initially design flaws resulted from misinformation or a misunderstanding of the product by the sales person, but design flaws have subsequently been disregarded and dismissed, entirely. Our Story Our bathroom remodel included a complete rebuild of a double shower (tear out of existing framing, pan, etc.). To minimize potential problems with a frameless enclosure we consulted with Houston Shower Doors. We arranged for a sales person to periodically inspected the progress of the remodel and inform us of any adjustments needed in design or construction. When it was finally time to install the enclosure, my sales person and I discussed our options and he took the final measurements. My shower and drop-in tub form a 90 degree angle, which means an enclosure with a 30” pivot door would hit the tile wall of the drop-in tub. Considering the height and weight of the frameless door, I felt it was unsafe for glass to collide with porcelain tile, and I did not want rubber stick-on bumpers in the middle of the newly remodeled wall. We were given two options: 1. Add a three inch panel, past the wall of the drop-in, and reduce the size of the door to 25” (+$100). 2. Use double corner Hydro-sliders (+$600). Although I preferred the sliders to the smaller door, my sales person assured us that the smaller pivot door would stop at a 90 degree angle and, therefore would NOT hit the tile, eliminating justification for the extra cost of a slider. The initial installers were AMAZING! They were very professional and took the time to inspect everything. When THEY found a scratch on the glass and a piece of the hardware, they took it back and brought a new one. After months of fighting with sloppy contractors, my husband and I were a bit surprised and utterly delighted to have installers that took so much pride and care in both their work and my house! Up to this point, I would have given Houston Shower Doors a 5 (A+) rating. The shower was absolutely beautiful, the price was competitive, the sales person was attentive and respectful, and the installers were wonderful. Unfortunately, things quickly went downhill. After installation, I noticed (problem #1) the door DOES NOT stop at a 90 degree angle, and therefore hits the tub! I immediately called my sales person, who said he “needed to look into the problem.” An hour later, I had to call him about problem #2, which led to problem #3, #4, and #5. When we used the shower for the first time, (problem #2) the water poured out of the bottom of the door. My sales person said he would send an installer. He also informed me he had spoken to the manufacturer and (problem #1) admitted he was wrong about the hinges stopping at 90 degrees. He said he could give me $200 off the shower. I told him I was not happy with this, because (A) I paid an extra $100 for a (B) smaller door that (C) my hits the wall, and (D) still do not think is safe. He suggested I could use rubber stick on bumpers (which I clearly stated before purchase- I did not want!). I suggested he find a reasonable way to correct my original (primary) concern about the frameless enclosure before we discuss a discount. He said we would revisited this when the other issues were resolved. We also agreed that the second portion of the payment would not be drafted until ALL issues were resolved. The second installer informed us that the shower was leaking because (problem #3) the shower head sprays directly on the seals and (problem #4) the wrong seals were installed. Problem #3: we would need to change the shower head to a rain head (pointed down). Although fairly easy to correct, it should have been brought to my attention during the design stage of the remodel (as that was the reason we had a sales persons involved in the design process) so we could have moved the shower head to a more appropriate location, like the ceiling or another wall. At this point, I needed to purchase an s-shaped extension arm that raised the shower head and then pointed it down (x 2 if I wanted matching showers). Moen extensions that match the shower heads cost $150 per arm (total $300). So we bought off brand extensions at $55 each (total $110), but the color of the metal is not an exact match to the shower head. Problem # 4: when the second installer changed the seals, he left visible air bubbles in the silicon and silicon all over the glass. He also drilled a (problem # 5) second hole in the tile (still not sure why), and misaligned the pivot hinges. We reached out to the installation supervisor, who was very professional, and corrected the issues immediately. The second hole under the hinge is not ideal (considering the entire rebuild was a result of water leaking through tile in the shower), but he has assured us it will not be an issue. Before we even had a chance to try the new seals or resolve the original problem (#1), I noticed Houston Shower Doors drafted the 2nd payment (with a $200 discount). I called my sales person. He told me he gave me a discount, and I had a life time warranty on the seals (in-case they leak again). I asked him what I was supposed to do about the door hitting the wall and he told me that I really do not have any options. According to my sales person “it is not like they can just reinstall the enclosure, as they have already drilled holes into the tile…Besides, it is not really that big of a concern because I do not have young children.” After politely expressing my concerns again, he said he would go to home depot and by a door stop, then asked if I wanted him to “just buy it or install it too…” I have heard nothing since. Clearly they have decided to disregard my concerns, and I am tired of trying to justify them. Although the shower is beautiful, all of the time I spent in consult was a waste of time, as (1) my major concern have never been properly addresses and (2) I was forced to modify the shower to accommodate the enclosure despite consultations intended to circumvent this. Overall, I ended up with a smaller door, ugly rubber bumpers in the middle of my new tile, and spending over $200 correcting issues that resulted from use of a pivot door. I have been forced to justify my concerns, which have been completely disregarded (despite the fact that they were raised before purchase) and dismissed as though I am just being paranoid. I guess “girls” tend to be paranoid about “silly” things, like a seven foot sheet of glass falling on my “5 year old niece” when she "not so" gently opens the door into the tile:( To sooth my "girly" nerves, the company gave me a discount of $200. How kind of them to almost cover the cost of a “smaller door” ($100) + off brand, non-matching, extension shower arms ($110 + tax). Had my husband and I not been misinformed (by the sales person) we could have installed the sliders and probably would have had a much better experience in the long run…"

"All went very well. Be and his employee arrived as scheduled, professional, provided excellent work, clean-up, and finished on budget. You can't ask for more than that. The first time Be came to our home to give us an estimate we were in the process of replacing all our water pipes. When I showed him the decrepit attic access ladder that we wanted replaced (that our plumbers were using) he, on the spot, modified a couple of boards and screws to provide more ladder stability that could be removed and replaced each day , allowing us to close our existing attic access door each night. The plumbers were most grateful, as were we. We scheduled Be for the actual replacement of the attic access ladder the day the plumbers were done. Unfortunately, we purchased and provided him with the wrong door size. However, Be made it work by providing addition structural support and new trim to cover it. You would never know by looking at it that it wasn't a part of the original construction. (See photo). When that was completed, we were so pleased that we scheduled Be to remove and replace an exterior gate on the side of our house as well as a few slats in our backyard. He even walked the perimeter of our fence with hammer and drill to fix any loose hardware. Once again, he exceed our expectations. And since he was there, we even had him dig out a very large shrub for us. Be is by far the best handyman we have ever contracted. We recommend him without hesitation."
