The initial contact with Michael Sheehan was very pleasant as well as informative. He helped us choose the best roof to meet our requirements and provided us with a written proposal outlining the work to be performed, warranty features, and total cost. We chose Acorn to do our job based on the following factors: we judged their proposal to be our best value considering cost, quality and warranty; Acorn has credentials as both a GAF Master Elite contractor and an Owens Corning Preferred contractor; they could schedule us before the onset of hurricane season; they have received numerous positive online reviews; and Michael was responsive and easy to work with. Whenever we called Acorn’s office, Mary was there to pick up the phone. Mary is pleasant, knowledgeable, helpful, and thorough. Any questions or requests that we had were addressed promptly and effectively. The crew worked very diligently and efficiently, completing the job within the projected two-day timeframe. Ron, the head crew chief overseeing the work, was present the entire time. The cleanup was quite well done, and both the dumpster and residual material were removed in less than one hour after the crew had finished. We found all of the workers that we were directly involved with, including vendors delivering supplies, to be polite, considerate, and personable. We have only had the new roof for less than one month, but it evidently seems to be performing as expected. It certainly looks very nice and has elicited several compliments. To summarize, we are very pleased with the performance, results, and customer service provided by Acorn Home Improvements, and we would definitely contact them for future work."

"Every home owner eventually needs (or will need) a new roof. Expense is one of the driving factors that usually determines the vendor BUT a more economical long range decision should be made based on quality. Quality of product, installation and service are essential components of this decision. This is why we chose to go with Power for our new roof and gutters. EVERY interaction with each employee was customer-centric. They patiently listened to our requirements and concerns and then offered effective solutions during and throughout the entire process. (The warranty was also the best available.) Power is a large company with multiple locations across the country, ours was headquartered in Maryland but the work was completed in Virginia. This geographic distance did not adversely effect the outcome. From the initial salesperson (who took the gutsy risk of letting me visit and talk with two neighborhood customers while he waited outside before signing our contract) through the schedulers, work execution and Quality Control final inspection we were well pleased. The work started on time and was completed on time. Numerous personal phone calls and visits by the Power inspectors provided us with the comforting conclusion that we made the correct choice for a truly professional contractor. (The ONLY minor problem for the ENTIRE process was an oil stain from their air compressor on one of our paving blocks.) With our 50 year labor and product warranty I doubt we will need to redo our roof in our lifetime BUT if we move we would definitely chose Power again! Check the Better Business Bureau reviews and complaints and you will easily see that Power is a responsive and reasonable company to work with. Need a new roof? Power is your answer! Note that our project included house (2050 sq ft) replacement of all substandard 3/4” roof decking with code 7/16” decking (2080 sq ft) and also included reroofing of standalone shed (100 sq ft) minus decking replacement/gutters."
