It was a large job as the roof is approximately five thousand square feet and has a number of different slopes and pitches plus skylights that were either covered or replaced. The crew of fourteen along with the owner arrived at 7:30am. When the old roof was removed it was discovered that a much larger amount of the plywood than expected was wet and needed to be replaced. They managed to do this seamlessly and stayed to finish the job that day. I was very impressed with how the crew worked together. The next morning they replaced all the gutters. "We couldn't ignore our complicated roof after a pretty brutal winter in 20/21: we're exposed at high altitude and subjected to major westerly winds and continuous freeze/thaw cycles (massive ice dams that are as impressive to look at as they are damaging). Add to that quite a few roof valleys, combos of both steep and shallow roof pitches, and many cathedral ceilings that lack the benefit of full attic insulation (which you really also need to deal with if you want your roof to do its job). This isn't an easy puzzle. You can only realize the extent of what needs to be done once heavy rain and winds begin to reveal mother nature's work over a long period of time. Enter Shane and a truly pro crew: the on-site leadership brings a ton of highly valuable experience and everyone is kept on their A game through the process. Roofing is tough and yet they remain thoughtful, thorough, methodical, and willing to go the extra mile. I'm on the extreme level of meticulous and, when diagnosing issues, these guys spoke my language, leaving no stones unturned. I've waited until we got through the bulk of this winter to see how things held up and I can say the difference is night and day. I'd also add that aesthetics aren't lost on these guys either - a roof isn't treated as just a roof; it's a visual statement and the team were as attentive to color as they were to quality materials. Bill coordinated the final measurements and the installation crew. I was not expecting the work to be done until early November. It was done October 21, 2020, weeks early. The installation crew, Ivan and Vito, were clean, professional and installed my six windows in a half day (replacing original windows from 1937 when the house was built). They were very careful of my outdoor plants and interior belongings. They thoroughly cleaned up and replaced the blinds hardware they had to remove to do the job. You'd be hard pressed to know they were even there. They were professional and true craftsmen. I cannot be happier with the quality of the windows or the service provided by ProEdge Remodeling by Custom Built. They are worth every penny I paid and they look so natural.
