"This was our second experience using JW Roofing and Remodeling. They did a previous job repairing an error by another roofer. Roxanne Derby, the executive administrator, is a seasoned professional with attention to detail. During the whole process she stayed in touch with the repair from "tear off to installation". Along the way she provided numerous suggestions and improvements that helped us end up with a much better roof than the original builders installed. Her working with the "ins and outs" of dealing with our rigid home insurance company proved invaluable! We would definitely use this company again."

"I purchased the roof repair tune-up as I could see a few shingles had slipped. A few gentlemen came out to assess my roof and set an appointment to repair. The crew came out and patched my roof within an hour. They also found another area that needed repair and did that at the same time. The color on the shingles was a bit off and they mentioned that it would blend after a few months. Well it's after a few months and the color is now blending with the rest of the roof. Well worth their efforts and will use them again for any future repair or replacement. They also gave me a bit of advise on my roof that I was very appreciative. On time, courteous, effecient, and well worth their tune-up cost. <br />"

"My wife chose Roofing Solutions for their prompt response and communication. They were on time to appointments and had all paperwork organized for us. I have my own job site magnet and I’ve yet to find a single nail new or old from this jobsite. Truly amazing."

"Everything took about a month to complete because we had a lot of damage. But my house is way nicer than before. We picked a grey roof on a red brick house and it looks like a new place. So we decided to add in some new paint as well. The biggest compliment though, was our Project Manager Chris, he was so nice. He sat with us for hours while we picked colors. It was a great experience."

"I contacted Bryan Meyer of Strata on Friday, Jul 25.  After our call, he came the next Monday of my contacting him. He called the next day (Tu 29th) with his bid and brought the bid and his insurance certificate the next afternoon. <br /> On later visits to our home, a new hire, Matt Bush, accompanied him. Matt was very helpful in the color selection process which was the most difficult part for my wife. Matt patiently listened and talked her through.  Brian and Matt also gave us a list of addresses where roofs that are this particular color had been installed. That was most informative because we could see how our selection would look installed on our house. <br />   <br /> The Strata bid was similar to bids from other roofing contractors for equivalent shingles.  However, we chose an upgrade to get the solar reflective and algae resistance properties in the color we wanted.  That color turned out to be discontinued and Bryan went to great lengths to find shingles of the correct color.  He was able to get them from a supplier in Katy who was planning to use them on his own house. <br />   <br /> The roofing crew promptly showed up, Thursday, Aug 7 at 6:45 a.m., on time, on the scheduled day and worked into the evening until the roof was finished.  The foreman, Jose, introduced himself to us when they arrived.  The roofers had trucks marked with the company logo and most of the crew were wearing company shirts.  The clean-up was excellent with only a few nails and small pieces of shingle left in the yard. Stata employed a dedicated clean up person, who circled the yard all day long picking up stray pieces that fell. Brian told us Strata recycles the asphalt shingles to save the expense of landfill fees. We definitely appreciated that and the fact our old roof was re-utilized as road materials. <br /> Matt was on site a good bit of the day to make sure the job went well, as was Brian who made sure the materials arrived on time. <br /> The roof looked great when they were done and the color complements the house very well.  One of the valleys in the roof had the cut edge of the shingles exposed in a way that was not very attractive although it was installed correctly.  Matt came to look at it. Then Brian and the job foreman, Jose came out on Saturday to check what would need to be done. Then on Mon, Aug 11, Two men came out a couple days later, very early again and fixed the valley to improve the appearance. Matt came by to make sure we were satisfied. <br /> Well, the roof is wonderful! Strata worked diligently make it no. <br /> The sales people and the roofing crew were very professional and efficient.  We would use them again and recommend them to Angie?s list members and anyone else who asks about roofing and the great job Strata did for us. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"Robert & Maryanne are honest, fair, and a joy to work with. Their team is not only professionally skilled but very respectful. They kindly worked within my schedule, and upon completion they cleaned the entire area to the point of being better than when they started. And, my new roof is so beautiful - I love it. They even repaired my chimney! It was a pleasure doing business with Bexar County Roofing & Remodeling and they will be the first ones I call if I ever need more work done."

"I needed a roof replacement, along with the rest of my neighbors due to a hail storm. The team did an outstanding job on my roof replacement and clean up. They were able to take off and put on my new roof in a day and cleaned up to make sure there were no nails or other debris behind. My neighbor who had another company do her roof called me unprompted to tell me what a WONDERFUL JOB SA Premier Roofing did on my property."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Marion, TX

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
