"I asked for biweekly lawn mowing and they showed up once a week. They also took it upon themselves to do weeding that was not requested and then proceeded to bill me for double the services that I asked for. Extremely unethical. They do not deserve referrals of any kind. They are scam artists"

"<p>Nobody wants to be in a position of needing to do stucco remediation but Ed makes the process as easy as it can be. He and his crews are very hard workers and I was amazed at how much work they accomplished each day.  They actually finished my job a week  ahead of the estimate even though we added to the scope of work during the process.  The crews are very detail-oriented and they take pride in their work. When they came into the house to remove and re-install windows they took care to minimize the disruption and the mess and always cleaned up after themselves. </p> <p>Ed is also very good as a sounding board when you have to choose siding colors, stone, options.  He has done enough houses to know what works, and for someone like me who has a hard time visualizing the finished product it was reassuring to run my ideas by him to prevent me from making an expensive mistake.</p> <p>Other reviews I've read have commented  on Ed being hard to get in touch with.  Ed's operation is not as big as some other's and he keeps it that way by choice to maintain quality.  When you're trying to get an estimate from him you have to be a little patient but once you are a client you have his full attention.</p> <p>Make sure that you carefully read the proposals from all of the contractors that you're considering because the base prices are not uniform.   I found that Ed provided the best combination of quality and cost.</p> <p><br /></p> <p><br /></p> <p><br /></p> <br />"

"<strong><em>  First of all, Mikes' Landscaping sub-contracted out the job to Herron Contractors, who I knew nothing about but since Mikes Landscaping was recommended by Angies List and he used them they must be OK.  Well Herron Contractors turned out to be a one man show who could not come til 4:45 pm each day due to his full time job.  It is done he is paid.  I will not use Mikes Landscaping or Herron Contractors again.</em></strong> <br />"

FAQs for brick and stone patios, walks, and steps installation projects in Marmora, NJ

When cleaning your flagstone patio, begin by gently hosing off loose dirt and debris. Use a mild solution of white vinegar and water or diluted dish soap to scrub the surface with a soft-bristled brush. Avoid using abrasive tools, such as wire brushes, as they can damage the stone’s seal and finish. This careful approach effectively removes mold and grime while preserving the natural beauty of your patio.

Flagstone naturally offers a neutral palette that includes shades of grey, black, red, yellow, brown, and tan, and its inherent color cannot be altered. Choosing varieties like bluestone provides a subtle bluish tint that complements many exterior designs. These natural hues enhance curb appeal and create a refined, timeless look in your outdoor space, ensuring a sophisticated finish with minimal upkeep.

Flagstone for a patio must have a minimum thickness of 1.5 inches to reliably support furniture and foot traffic. Using stone that is two to three inches thick is recommended to ensure lasting durability. The increased thickness prevents cracking under load and enhances long-term performance. Investing in thicker flagstone provides superior stability and resistance to weather conditions, ensuring your outdoor space remains both safe and attractive.

You can paint a flagstone patio by using a high-quality, outdoor elastomeric latex paint designed for heavy foot traffic. Painting not only refreshes the patio’s appearance but also creates a waterproof barrier that protects the stone from damage. Regular reapplication every one to two years maintains its durability and visual appeal, ensuring your patio remains both stylish and well-protected.
