"Great! They did an absolutely fantastic job. They were very thorough and conscientious, going the extra mile to make sure that the door was installed properly. They communicated well as the project moved along and I truly appreciated that. I’m very pleased with the outcome and would definitely hire them again."

Customers say: Quality work

"JL Smith is our go to contractor. He has brought our 50 year old house into the 21st century. Over a few years he has remodeled our: basement, kitchen, master bath, hall bath and foyer. Additionally, he painted the rooms on our main floor, replaced all the interior doors and hardware and upgraded our electrical system. We didn’t want just a cosmetic redo. We wanted our house to be ready to carry us through retirement with minimal issues. So our renovations were from the studs out. This included plumbing, electrical, wall insulation and termite repair. We love working with Mr. Smith. He is unflappable. His integrity, calm demeanor, expert workmanship and customer focus is what sets him apart from other competitors. If we have another project or are asked to refer a contractor to family or friends, we go to Joe Smith. I cannot recommend JL Smith more highly."

"We originally bought a $1000 shower door from Lowe's, and my husband was going to install....but couldn't. Then we were going to hire a pro for $500 to get it installed, but he couldn't because the angle wasn't perfect. He recommended Shower Door King to custom build. We got a nicer door made and installed for $2255. It was so worth it. I wish we hired them from the beginning to avoid all that trouble of carrying the heavy door back and forth from Lowe's....They did an amazing job!"

"I had been putting off replacing an original sliding door in our home for a long time. Since we never had a deck, we never had a need to use that door therefore no point in replacing it. This year we had a new deck built and decided it was finally time to replace that original sliding door. I was referred to Thompson Creek by friends and co-workers. They were great to work with. They did not pressure us to buy now. They presented their offer, came out to take measurements and came out when they promised to perform the installation. We couldn't be happier with our new door. After a week of having our new door installed we also noticed that we are not heating the house as much as we used to - which saves us money! Thank you Thompson Creek!"

"Gray and his crew were a pleasure to work with.  Starting with the estimate, Gray came in person, and we told him what we wanted.  He was very honest about what he thought could and could not be done.  We had 3 other estimates.  Gray was in the middle.  He was also willing to work with us on a deck, which some of the other contractors did not want to do.  We chose him because we felt he would do a quality job.  We did ask him to obtain permits, which he did, and had inspectors come in a timely fashion.  The total project took about 6 weeks - we had told him we wanted it done by the end of May, and he finished well ahead of time. Starting with the basement project which was a den added to a partially finished basement and also a custom finished bathroom.  Gray's crew were very punctual - showing up sometimes before their 7:30-8am start time.  He primarily has two other men who work with him.  Brian who does tiling, and Danny who helps with the other stuff.  They framed the area in a day or two. The bulkheads were done very well giving us as much ceiling space as possible.   Gray was flexible with our bathroom layout, as initially we wanted the toilet next to the shower, but then decided to put it facing the shower.  At first he told us it could not be done, but then after breaking the concrete to our rough in, he was able to make it happen.  He had his electrician and plumber in as soon as the framing was inspected.  They took about 2 days to finish.  The tiling in the shower took about a week.  Brian takes his time and is also a perfectionist.  He does quality tiling work, and we were extremely pleased when he was finished.  Gray subcontracted the drywalling and mudding and this team only took 3 days to finish.  One word of advice - be sure you close your vents and cover everything you can with plastic - I did not do this, and spent a long time trying to dust off my furniture and storage items.  Gray was very particular and wanted everything to be perfect, and he had the drywall team come back a couple of times to make sure the walls were perfect.  He also subcontracted the painters who finished in a timely fashion.  Gray recommended we buy our own carpet from Lowes and have it installed by Lowes - he was upfront that this would be cheaper than having him do it, which we were glad we did.  Also, just to mention, the amount we paid did not include certain materials which we purchased and were told up front in the contract we were responsible for - this included tiles, vanity, bathroom accessories.  The deck was then completed next.  Gray built a freestanding deck which according to code was not necessary, but we feel a lot safer that he did.  He used low maintenance decking from Trex.  The project was completed in a week or so.  He did work with  us on the layout for us to maximize our deck space. We were very happy with the completed deck, and I now have a place to put my grill! <br />  Overall, Gray and his crew did an excellent job, and we would use him again or refer them to friends.  He is an honest guy who we believe builds with safety and quality in mind.  The team is very friendly, and we were able to trust them to work on our project during the day with no one home.  These guys are hard workers.  Well, I hope this review helps.  I would have placed more detail, but just had a baby and am just finding some time to share our experience.    <br />"
