"Lou and his crew did an excellent job. Removed concrete walkway, cleaned entire area, and had new concrete delivered and poured the next day. So many compliments received from neighbors and customers of my wife’s business. I highly recommend Lou Fani and his company."

"We’ve used Primetime Concrete for an addition on our house, a patio, a basketball court/play area for my kids. As well as a slab and set of steps at a rental we have. Would recommend them to anybody who is looking. They are hard-working, punctual, and reasonable. As well as always responsive to any questions and needs we had. We will use them for any future masonry work we need."

Small jobs welcome

"Brandon gave us an excellent quote. He is reliable & completed the work on time. He did a beautiful job and we are so happy with his work. He works with his father and they did a good job cleaning up after the job was finished. They were very polite and respectful of our property and I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone who needs concrete work done. I would absolutely hire them again. "

"We hired Hurley Design Group for a major landscaping project that included building two retaining walls (one in the front yard and one in the backyard), planting multiple trees, adding landscape stone, and leveling and resurfacing our backyard. From start to finish, Luke's work was absolutely impeccable. The craftsmanship on both retaining walls was outstanding, and the overall transformation of our yard exceeded our expectations. He was professional, punctual, and kept the job site clean throughout the entire process. Very easy to communicate with and clearly took pride in doing the job the right way. We are extremely happy with the outcome and the quality of their work. I would absolutely hire Hurley Design Group again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for top-tier landscaping and concrete services."

"I wanted my steps and walkway cemented. They got in contact with me immediately and did the work immediately. They even worked on the weekend (which I did not request). The price was very fair and the project came out great. I would highly recommend if you have concrete work to call them. I clicked on several people on Home Advisor and a few didn’t even get back to me. DM gave me the obvious impression that they wanted my business and wouldn’t just get around to it when they had the time "

"When we moved into 55 year old house in 2009, I wanted our garage doors checked for operation and safety.  I called several garage door companies to get an estimate.  My intention was to do some research before contracting one of the companies.   Mr. Giel just "dropped by" - no appointment or notice that he was coming.  I knew nothing about garage doors.  Mr. Giel said that would would check the doors for proper operation, install safety wires and lubricate them for $80.  it sounded like a a lot service for $80 but when he finished everything in about five minutes, I felt like a fool.  I will never use him for anything.   If you know about these things, as I do now, you know that the safety wires cost about $15 and are as simple to install as tying your shoe.  Lubrication is about spraying WD40 or such on all the moving parts and checking operation means opening and closing the doors.  My opinion is that Mr. Giel stopped by as he does knowing he would likely catch an ignorant consumer for a fast $80."

"We went to Omnipro for our patio and retaining wall. Greg was super helpful and very easy to talk to! It was nice seeing all the different blocks and pavers before making our purchase. I highly recommend you stop in and get your project started! My backyard looks amazing now!"

"Over the last two years, I used Lansberry Masonry a few times. They installed the limestone lentils above our windows, they have built a Belgium Block parking pod for our son’s car, and this year I gave them reasonably large project: to reset the entire brick patio around our pool. This job took Lee Lansberry’s small crew 3 months (4 people including Lee himself). They finished 2 days ahead of schedule and did a magnificent job. Every brick is not only reset perfectly, but it is also clean and bright (no fuzzy corners). I was not surprised. They came to work every day rain or shine before 8 AM and often worked past 4 PM. Great work ethic, great craftsmanship, great prices. I highly and enthusiastically recommend Lansberry Masonry!"

"Brian came over after we had talked with several contractors about a concrete porch underside (in basement room) and one of those contractors made us think the concrete was in such a bad state of "imminent failure" that it needs a full replacement. So, while we continued to get quotes for a full replacement, we also asked a retired architect friend to give his opinion. He did not think concrete was so bad and he was glad we were having a structural engineer (Brian) coming over a few days later. Brian explained why he did not think the concrete was in need of full replacement (very expensive!) and also the damage was not a foundation/structure integrity issue (not "imminent failure"). We had spoken to several contractors and the cost to fully replace is upwards of 15-20 thousand dollars. From the state of the concrete, Brian did not believe the "symptoms" warranted a full replacement and that the more likely issue was simply that we never "sealed" the concrete with epoxy (and only painted the concrete porch). Given the sky-rocketing costs to do any home repairs, it seems more reasonable for us to do first level repair (not replace) that Brian suggests. Brian's honest and informative consultation (for free!!!) is piece of mind and a HUGE savings. We greatly appreciate Brian coming over to educate us - on his own dime. We will definitely ask Brian to come over again if/when we think we need an honest assessment of our home foundation needs."

"It went extremely well! They were always on time. They were very polite and knowledgeable at all times. All of their workers were very good workers. They did an extremely good job. They were done in a matter of 2 days. We dealt with James, he was very professional and knowledgeable. Thank you Mr. Level for a job well done. We would hire them again if we need any concrete work done. We hired Mr. Level the same day that they were working on one of our neighbors sidewalk. We signed a contract on a Wednesday and the job was completed the very next day."

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Mcdonald, PA

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
