"We decided we needed to tackle the water issues in the basement of our century old home (unfinished, dirt dug out basement), as we ultimately wanted to be able to use the space as a work shop, but it flooded nearly every time it rained! Had numerous companies come out ranging from small time handymen up to national chains, had a variety of plans proposed. Ground Up's plans were the most comprehensive and they actually solved the problems, instead of just putting band-aid on issue. It was a major undertaking: we opted to dig basement floor down deeper (to increase head space), replace all 12 support posts in basement (including new footers), move sump pump, install three different drainage systems (we live on springs), and then pour new floor but in the end- our basement is FINALLY DRY! We have had several storms since the work, and we have held our breath waiting to ensure nothing seeps in, but it has not. Also, with the replacing the posts, they were able to upgrade materials & optimize placement to provide us with much more usable space. The Ground Up team was great from beginning to end, the initial project manager did a thorough inspection of property, gave us all options, and helped us decide which ones to prioritize, and which ones would could be DIY or just put on back burner. We appreciated the honesty and help. The team that did the work was fantastic, they worked through horrible rain and mud conditions. Things were cleaned up at the end of each day, and at the end of the project. Overall we are so pleased with the work and so glad we went with Ground Up - they are big enough of a company that they are capable of major residential foundation repairs, but still small enough to answer phone calls & emails and take time to explain things to you. We now have a dry space for a workshop- and also a solid foundation that will last another 100+ years."

"Initial shingled roof was completed in two (2) days with minimal interruption to normal living.  My home is 102 years old so once old wood was re-applied around upstairs dormer after singles were set, there was some leaking from the metal roof.  Troubleshooting the issue, provider discovered the dormer as suspect and had both sides re-built with new wood and sealed completely. This was at NO cost to me and crew worked in below 30 degree weather the day the dormer was re-build. <br /> Provider was extremely responsive to my initial texts regarding the leak until the issue was resolved.  The work ethic that was displayed by provider's crew was beyond anything I had ever witnessed with previous contractors.  No delays.  No excuses. No cost gauging. "The 2-sided fence area in the backyard which encloses the AC Compressor, pool filer, and pool equipment, was old and rotted. The gate was broken and the whole thing was an eyesore. Anson Long from Action Fence came the same day I called to measure the fence, approx 25 feet long. He emailed me an estimate within 2 days with a diagram describing exactly what was going to be done. He had said all the posts were rotted and needed to be replaced. I agreed. But the 2 gate posts were installed in concrete. So to save money and labor, yet keep the same dimensions of the enclosure, he recommended sawing those old gate posts down to the ground and installing steel boots in the concrete for the gate posts since we were going to shorten the gate opening from 54 to 48 inches anyway. Labor, teardown, takeaway, all new posts, cedar slats, cross bars, gate hinges, and latch were all included in the price of $770.00. This price also included the 2 steel boots for the gate posts. Action Fence was the only company which recommended installing new posts. The other fence companies said the old posts were ok to use and would 'save money', yet all their estimates were higher. I also liked that Action Fence uses email to send the contract and their program populates your signature. Very easy and no hassle. Since there was no hurry on the enclosure, Anson said he would fit me in as soon as possible which turned out to be just a week later. <br />"

"<p>First and foremost C&C Aluminum (Dale Cooper, co-owner) accomplished EVERYTHING promised! The usual bickering over what was to be done did NOT occur, amazing. I found Mr. Cooper very trustworthy.<br /> All of the crew were professional, polite, respectful and extremely hard working. Michael and Tracy took the lead in our project and made sure everything was done as if it were for their house.<br /> If I had to complain about something, it would be that I had to call the office as it was hard to reach Mr. Cooper on his personal cell phone.<br /> The job took longer than expected because we kept adding things, the weather fought us and the holidays.<br /> I was happily surprised to see that they were willing to use the best product (i.e. AvanTech subflooring rather than Huber Blue Plus & upgraded the thermostat to the Honeywell RTH7600D at no additional cost). We added an outside door that would connect our existing dining room to the sun room. They went the extra mile to make sure they protected the dining room so that the drywall dust and insulation being cut did not cover anything (made a happy wife).  We added two more ceiling lights which C&C installed at no additional charge. </p> <p>Another modification was to move the door going to the patio over six inches (6?). Even though they had ordered the door and adjacent windows, C&C went ahead and modified the order to meet our wants.</p> <p>We had one issue where a large amount of water go onto the partially tiled floor. They brought in a heater and dried it out, but I was unsure if they were able to dry between the concrete board and the AvanTec. Mr. Cooper told his crew to go in and removed the tile and concrete board to show me that it was dry. Thinking back, it surprises me that they went that far and did not just dig in saying it was dry.</p> <p>To me the best example of Mr. Cooper?s integrity came from a misunderstanding we had as we laid out the tractor cover. We agreed on an 8x20 foot cover and Mr. Cooper ordered and delivered it to the site. As they started to install it I noticed that it wouldn?t be big enough to completely cover my tractor because of the uprights. I told the workers to stop as it wouldn?t meet my needs. Mr. Cooper and I agreed to split the difference in the cost of the larger covering as we were both at fault (I agree). Later on Mr. Cooper came back and said he would eat the entire cost of the upgrade.</p> <br /> <br /> <p>I not only would recommend C&C Aluminum Builders Supply / Comfort Plus, I have told Mr. Cooper that I want him to return to add a covering from the detached garage to the new deck as soon as I have the funds. Just wish I could post a picture :) .</p>"
