"The first word that comes to mind in describing the demolition and renovation done by TMAK Restoration, LLC is Extraordinary! The craftmanship is nothing more than impressive! We had our bathroom and kitchen remodeled down to the studs. Our bathroom required a bathtub and floor removal, new walls, painting and a new stack. TMAK Restoration installed a new floor, walk-in shower with nooks, new commode, new vanity, all new hardware, ceiling lights and a bonus bathroom light with Bluetooth connectivity! Impressive is the best word used to describe our kitchen! Not only our family and friends are impressed, also the countertop installers, appliance delivery men also made comments on how beautiful and updated the kitchen looks! TMAK Restoration painted, installed cabinets, crown molding, fixed the plumbing and installed an over the range hood and recessed lighting . This all blended seamlessly with the stainless-steel appliances. As far as professionalism and cleanliness, Nick and Mike was consistently on time every morning. They arrived about 9:30 and stayed until 5:30 with some extra work hours put in. They did an excellent job in cleaning up, taking out the demolition materials and putting their tools away. (This is very reassuring as your home is going through a transition). Mike always asked, how we were feeling during the renovation and if there was anything he could to add to the design of the bathroom or kitchen. He truly lives by his motto in trying to give the best customer experience. Personally, I am not easily impressed, but I must admit Mike and Nick are an impressive team!"

"Viau Builders LLC just completed a major remodel of our home to include a complete redo of 1 bathroom, a extensive remodel of another bath, near total remodel of our kitchen, redo of our fireplace surround and entryway and upgrading our stairway rail and banister. My wife and I couldn't be happier with the outcomes. Matt got the right people in there and got the job done. He helped us with design and colors. He and his crew were very congenial and I'm really happy to report cleaned up each day before they left. From our custom tiled master bathroom to our new fireplace surround they surpassed all my expectations. I would hire Matt again in a NY minute!"

"My Kitchen tile was installed 18 years ago.  I had it professionally cleaned once before about 5 years ago. Before this cleaning, the grout was very dirty in high traffic areas, although the tile itself did not look that dirty. Downey Clean provided the cleaning solution from a tank on their truck. They did not use any water from my house. The solution did not smell and was not messy. The technician worked quietly. It took about an hour. My tile area was larger than the 200 sq. feet specified. I paid $75.00 extra for 75 extra sq. feet. I think this was a reasonable price. When the technician left, the tile was almost dry enough to walk on. He was not able to do anything about the a few areas where the grout was missing. The only issue I saw was that he did not open the doors in the hallway to other rooms; leaving about one-quarter inch of grout uncleaned under the doors. In the future, I will make sure that all doors are open off the hallway when I have the tile cleaned. Otherwise, the grout looks great and the tile looks brighter.

"I removed old carpet and padding from the living and dining rooms. The hardwood flooring had beautiful grain and character, but also a lot of damage. Some of the wood grain was raised and there were a lot of stains, some of which were black. I thought it might be a lost cause, but contacted Teppo Interiors through Angie's List for an opinion on refinishing and an estimate.
Kevin Teppo described the process and what results I could realistically expect. It wasn't a lost cause, but it would not be like new either. He was more optimistic about the results than I. He pointed out the crack in the ceiling and that there was no quarter-round on the woodwork, both of which his crew could take care of. There was no pressure to sign or up-selling. I appreciated that.
They were able to start on the job earlier than expected, which was perfect. I removed everything from both rooms.
Evening before sanding: They taped and plastered the ceiling crack. I applied two coats of paint. That was not expected of me but I had the time. It was one less thing for them to do the next morning.
Day 1: Three man crew arrived on time, sanded the floors and applied the walnut stain. I was warned about the fumes, so I boarded my dog for this time frame. The doorways were sealed with plastic to keep the fumes contained as well as possible.
Day 2-4: Sanding and a coat of polyurethane, 3 coats total. The crew arrived on time and were very efficient and polite.
Day 5: Quarter-round was installed. They moved the dining room table and TV stand back into the rooms. Job complete.

"I have used Caserta and company for years, maybe 15.  They work methodically, slow and steady and it's done before you know it. They also clean up everynight so your house is not a mess.  I love these guys.  I look for things to get painted, just to have them back."

FAQs for kitchen design service projects in Mentor, OH

A professional kitchen designer is a specialist in planning and implementing the remodel of kitchen spaces. They'll help you pick materials and styles, give you a quote, render a model, and send the order to manufacturers and installers. You can think of them as creative project managers who will facilitate your kitchen project from start to finish.

No, a kitchen designer can't plan for structural remodeling since kitchen designers aren’t structural experts. Consult a pro for structural engineer fees and inquire about changes like removing a wall. Additionally, for changes to your kitchen's electrical, plumbing, or gas lines, you'll need to hire the appropriate professionals, like a licensed electrician or plumber near you.

A kitchen designer’s process includes the following:

  • Finding inspiration: They may ask for photos, feedback on material samples, and preferred fittings to understand your vision.

  • Using design tools: These include computer modeling software, 3D and high-resolution cameras for recording your space, color wheels, and sketches.

  • Considering appliances and fixtures: It’s important that each item is installed correctly, balances aesthetics and functionality, and is conveniently positioned in a kitchen work triangle.

  • Looking at the whole home: A designer will consider your home's age and style.

  • Writing up plans: After taking measurements, they create a plan based on your specifications.

It takes anywhere from 10 to 20 hours for a professional kitchen designer to come up with a fully fleshed-out plan for a mid-size kitchen. However, that time can increase if you ask for a complex, custom-designed plan. Ask your designer for a quote on both pricing and overall time frame before you start working together to ensure you're on the same page with expectations.

If you're doing an extensive kitchen renovation, hire a kitchen designer to manage the project and ensure things go smoothly for you. A major renovation may include new flooring, countertops, cabinets, lighting, and structural changes like knocking out a wall or upgrading the electrical, plumbing, or gas lines. If you're doing something more minor, like only replacing a sink or painting your cabinets, you can either pay for installation or DIY.
