"They did a pretty good job of removing the old vegetation. However there was no supervision and they destroyed plants that I specified I wanted to save. Ian decided to divide the job into 2 parts - removal and re-landscaping. It took nearly all summer to have the removal done and the cost quoted for the new landscaping was more than I wanted to pay THEM. Ian seemed to have trouble coming up with a design - and perhaps that’s not his strong suit. I have used this company in the past for smaller jobs and they were fantastic. Ian is great, but I just think he might be over booking."

After some miscommunication and bad weather issues my small project was completed to my satisfaction today within 3 weeks of hire. "Alberto from Bison Landscaping was extremely easy to work with from the very beginning when he examined the work I needed completed. He provided a very detailed cost estimate to fix my retaining walls in my backyard. He was very understanding, took precise measurements, and provided options to replace the damaged RR ties that formed my backyard landscaping retaining walls. Other contractors provided estimates without measurements which I found very odd. Alberto was thorough and provided multiple pictures of stone walls he installed for other clients. It was very easy for us to choose exactly what we wanted installed. He and his team battled some very poor weather when work first began, but made quick progress in removing all RR ties and tree roots. They also installed drainage piping and gravel along the walls' foundations. The team cleaned the entire work area and the project took only one week! We are so happy our backyard wall is fixed and looks great! We highly recommend them!"

"Mike O'Brien (the owner) was difficult to get a hold of and it took multiple attempts and numerous voicemails before he responded. He apparently attempted to contact me through Angie's List email only. I was scheduled for work on Fri., April 25 only to have a and quot;no-showand quot; for the day. I stayed home from work and did not leave the house in the hopes that someone would show up…but to no avail. To Mike's credit, when he finally called me back, he offered to double my deal purchased for no more money (additional 8 hours of work). I appreciated his customer service to make it right for his oversight on scheduling.
His employee (Mauricio) was great and did everything I requested of him and more. I would hire him again in a heart beat. My concern is that some vendors on Angie's List do not value customers who purchase deals through Angie's List and as such provide questionable customer service. I am having the same experience with a landscaper who I have to continually and quot;track downand quot; to find out when the work will be completed.
I might consider MPO Builders again the future with clear communication regarding what, when, where, and who. My only consideration is a result of having a great experience with Mauricio directly. He was great. One could speculate that Mike hires good people.
