"The initial meeting with John was promising. He was straightforward, easy to talk to, and quickly provided a quote without being pushy. I appreciated that he offered light recommendations without trying to upsell us. After that first meeting, I felt comfortable moving forward. I had John come out one more time so my boyfriend could meet him, ask a few more questions, and finalize the siding and color choices. The next morning, John texted early, saying he’d be by within the hour to pick up the $10,000 deposit. We were told materials would be ordered right away and the project would begin by the end of the month. However, as that date approached, we hadn’t heard anything. When we reached out, we were told it would be delayed by another week — and then again, another week. We were okay with some delays, but the complete lack of communication was extremely frustrating, especially since we needed to coordinate our work schedules. We were also told the work wouldn’t involve anything on the inside, but that turned out not to be true — which was a big issue since we have two pets. During the project, our flower beds and garden were completely destroyed. While some wear and tear is expected, there was no reason for a large boxwood bush to be crushed with a cinder block when there was clearly space to work around it. Several things were damaged, including blinds, window sills, a shelf, and part of the entrance flooring. While I understand that accidents happen during construction, what bothered us most was the lack of accountability. None of these issues were addressed until we specifically called them back out to deal with them. John never showed up for a single walkthrough, and to our surprise, the entire job was done by a different company altogether — not his own crew. That was something we hadn't anticipated, and unfortunately, we didn’t think to confirm it beforehand again our fault. The windows installed were low quality and very off-brand compared to what we expected. We had also discussed having decorative grills/grid lines in the windows, which were completely left out. In the end, while everything listed in the contract was technically delivered, the overall experience left a lot to be desired. The workmanship felt sloppy, communication was almost nonexistent, and the lack of oversight from the owner was disappointing. We definitely feel we overpaid for what we received. It’s partly on us for not being more proactive during the process, but someone who takes pride in their business would have at least done one final inspection or walkthrough."

"RUN FAR AWAY FROM ALLIED AND TOM. Tom took my money and did not complete the renovations as per our contract. He lied about having a licensed electrician to do electrical work, it was just one of his workers who's not licensed. I paid for a dumpster and when it was delivered by tom it was already half full from another allied job and I was asked to pay the full amount of $950. Tom didn't listen to anything I said regarding the work I requested and he changed my design and did work that was cheaper for him. I was priced for one of my ceiling's to be ripped out and reinstalled with new sheetrock, Tom waited until I was away on business then he installed sheetrock on top of the bad sheetrock and told me he ripped out the old sheetrock and installed the new sheetrock, I found out when my EC cut holes to install lights and we found 2 layers of sheetrock preventing the lights from being able to be installed. Allied construction is a cheap, sneaky company who will steal your money and breach your contract. Do not hire these people Tom is a lair. Tom wore a gun in my house on his hip and told me "I use this to get paid by customer who don't want to pay". Tom left live 120v wires hanging out of the walls and ceiling, he removed a banister and didn't replace it for 3 weeks making my home very unsafe for me and my 9 year old son."

"Let me start by saying this the third bathroom John has gutted and recreated for us. I found John on Angie’s list about 6 years ago to renovate a bathroom on our first floor. He was amazing! Turning a tiny serviceable bathroom to a beautiful shower space. In May of 2025 I dug out John number to get him to do his magic again, this time to renovate 2 more bathrooms. One is a giant master bath, the other a small guest bathroom, both with the original decor of 1993! I love John’s process. He comes and listens to your visions then adds his own expert suggestions and provides a quote and a shopping list. When you have all the items in home you let him know and he sets the date for renovation and gives you the timetable which he adheres to. John is exact and meticulous, and works through until finished. He is timely and reliable and a charming presence at 7 am when he religiously starts his days. John was assisted by Mike who was also a meticulous craftsman and in addition a great painter. The end result is nothing short of gorgeous. Our master bath was transformed to the modern era and John’s attention to detail and artful eye creates a masterpiece."

"Lou renovated my kitchen last year and I was completely satisfied. I called him back this summer to gut and remodel my bathroom. He was extremely considerate, and he treated my house as if it were his own. My house is small, and I only have one bathroom. The project took nine days. I was anticipating that there would be a big mess and a huge inconvenience. But even the demo was done very neatly and efficiently. Lou even took the time to re-connect the toilet each night so that I wouldn't be left without. Lou did an amazing job, and it was a pleasure working with him.
