"I first became aware of Green Acres about 2 years ago when they were doing work on my neighbors yard. I observed how hard they worked and what a thorough job that they did that I asked my neighbor if they would recommend Green Acres and she said yes. I have used Green Acres for 2 Spring Clean ups <br /> I called Green Acres and spoke with the owner, John. Due to the nature of his job, John is not always in the office, so he and I played a lot of phone tag. Be patient it is worth the wait. After talking to John on the phone, he came out and walked the property with me and I explained what needed to be done. My husband asked about4 drainage issues we were having (2 in the front and 2 in the back) and John discussed the various solutions for each area. <br /> The crew worked tirelessly for 2 1/2 days doing all the work. John was the first to arrive and did another yard walk through with me and went over with me what they were going to do. This ensured that nothing was overlooked or forgotten. When the crew arrived I was introduced to the foreman and then John went around with him and went over every detail. Then it was time for the crew to get to work. <br /> The crew worked non-stop on my yard which is about 1 acre in size from about 8-9 in the morning until about 6-7 at night. They only rested for their short lunch break. They made sure everything was cleaned up when they left at the end of each day. There was nothing ever left behind. <br /> The crew edged, weeded and pruned and trimmed bushes and trees. They also applied mulch to all of my beds and applied Preen as well. Two drainage issues were addressed out front. One was to extend a drain from a stone wall to and a pop up drain was added. The second area was to try and locate a drain pipe that had ceased to function. Pipe was found and was replaced with a better option. In the back the crew fixed a drainage problem we were having on a landscaped hill. Any time a hard rain came, the mulch would run down our grass. Two box drains with stones surrounding were added which alleviated the problem. The final problem that they tackled for us were areas that were just filled with mulch because nothing could grow there. One an area was behind our hot tub. No patio pavers were not placed behind it. It was just covered with mulch, so we ended up constantly battling weeds grow there and also mulch that would end up on the patio when it rained. The second mulch filled area was a section of our patio that was originally planted by the landscaper who did our patio. Unfortunately, after 5 years of trying to get anything to grow in this shaded area that had no access to rain we needed a change. In both areas, the crew removed the mulch and they brought in river rock by to fill the spaces. Both spaces now look much better. <br /> I would highly recommend Green Acres. They started doing work with one neighbor who still uses them. I saw how hard they worked and what a quality job they did and started using Green Acres and have used them for 2 years. And just this Fall, I saw them doing work at anther's neighbors house. <br />"

"It’s been almost one year now, and I’m overdue in writing this review for Ground Effects. First of all, I’d like to say that the entire experience was really seamless and painless. Once we decided on what we wanted Mary, Josh and the crew got busy. The patio took several days to install and Josh and his crew worked really hard and did everything right. No pavers were laid before the foundation was really good and solid, and I mean solid. They were also able to replace some bricks and fix my front porch steps, which were installed poorly in the beginning when our house was first built. Josh made it look much better. I’d also note that they were able to go the extra mile for us, and fix an asphalt depression near the garage where it bordered the patio. But they didn’t just fix one spot. They corrected the entire problem in front of our garage and did a really good job. Overall, we love the patio! Everyone who sees it comments on how wonderful it is even, Amazon and UPS. Our friends and family whom I had described this project to before construction have all said that it came out much better than they expected or imagined. It has transformed the front of our house, we spend a lot of time on it now in the mornings and evenings and we are thrilled. We couldn’t recommend Ground Effects more highly, they were wonderful and if we ever have another Patio job I know who to call now. Thanks so much."

"<p>Andrea Mains was the designer. She responded promptly to my initial request for consultation. Her service was not free, but I liked the plans she drew up. Merrifield was not the cheapest estimate I got, but they took care of EVERYTHING including the demolition, and permit, which was what I was looking for. In addition, at my request, they scheduled the noisey demolition for a period when I was away from home. Their crew also accommodated my request to complete one corner of the work first so another contractor could install a new AC unit. (AC was installed on schedule.) The crew leader, Jose, and his men arrived around 8:45 every day that I was there and worked hard until 5 or later. Andrea brought some plants to my home so I could decide what I wanted installed. There were some I liked and some we decided not to use. The large rocks that were used as accents in the corners of the flagstone are weathered and even have some moss on them- love it! There is one little thing that I don't particularly like- the color of one of the stone steps is a little different from the rest of the stone. Overall, I am extremely pleased with my new patio/yard. I plan to use them again next year.</p> <p>I had to call Andrea a couple of months after work was completed due to a slight bit of erosion of the mulch covering the new plantings. She had it taken care of right away.<br /> <br /> </p>"
