"I would definitely recommend Twin Pines Home Improvements to everyone I know.  The quality and professionalism started with the first email I sent.  Nate, the owner, was the one who came out and gave us our quote and from that first interaction, we knew this was the company to go with.  Nate takes pride in the work that he does.  He was very knowledgeable and professional when talking to us about our project.  We had about 4 other companies come out and give us a quote.  Twin Pines wasn't the most expensive and wasn't the cheapest, but we went with them because of the comfort that we felt from Nate.  We had roof, siding, gutters and gutter guards installed, so it was a pretty massive project.  The flow of everything was unbelievable.  There was never really any downtime in-between the projects being completed, so they were done in a little more than a week, which again is crazy for all the work we had done.  All the project managers were so nice and friendly.  When I would go out and talk to them they would fill me in with the progress and their timeline.  I can't say it enough, but I would definitely recommend Twin Pines to everyone!"

"It went very well...totally satisfied. And very helpful. Checked entire roof...sealed the vents...also 'sealed' a couple of loose shingles (16 years into the life of 30 year roof). Helped me get a gutter downspout cleared. Clogged."

"Jerry and his team arrived exactly on time on the day of work (that never happens with contractors!). They immediately went to work started tearing down the old roof. Unfortunately, after exposing the trusses, they realized that they would need to fabricate new ones in order to create a level roof line. Without hesitation, they cut out new pieces and took the time to install them. What amazed me was the level of craftsmanship, care, and detail that they infused into such a small project on a scale relative to their other business. It's obvious that Jerry and his team take pride in their work and do everything in their power to ensure that the customer is completely satisfied with the end product. I was also pleasantly surprised to notice how clean they kept the work site, continually cleaning up as they made progress on the shed roof. In the end, they did a fantastic job of fixing my roof while adding additional structural stability to the shed to make it last that much longer, all for a very reasonable price. I consider myself to be very selective when it comes to contractors, but Jerry made it very easy for me to trust in his work from start to finish. I will be calling him again for my future needs. <br />"

"It went smoothly. It was very helpful that Stonegate staff clearly laid out what were the stages of the various projects, and what it would cost ahead of time. They kept that schedule, and kept me informed all along the way, about their progress. I am very pleased with the end result of a number of different projects that they undertook for me. It has resulted in a huge improvement in my home."

"I don't remember the actual cost of the work. However, I do know Eric <br /> personally and he has always been very personable, helpful, and friendly <br /> both in a personal and professional manner. They worked on our garage <br /> roof with a low angle. We had rolled shingle roofing that was failing. <br /> We just wanted to get by and Eric offered to tar the roof for much less <br /> than the cost of replacement. Unfortunately, this didn't hold up well <br /> and we had no problem with this as it was difficult to predict the <br /> outcome. However, Eric took the blame and was disappointed that he <br /> offered this repair and made up for it in the final cost of the rubber <br /> roof. The installation was quick and not intrusive. All of the workers <br /> were friendly and efficient. I would definitely look to them for <br /> future jobs! <br />"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Milton, WI

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
