"I had pulled a toilet to retrieve a plastic deodorizer clip that had flushed (watch out for those!).  I'd seen videos about re-seating toilets and had even helped do one years ago.  I thought it would be no big deal.  I was wrong.  I just couldn't get it to seat in. I just couldn't stand the thought of being taken advantage of for something I knew had to be pretty simple.  So, I contacted Angie's List to get a plumber recommendation as I had no direct referrals from acquaintances.  I chose McCoy because of their special offer and because I like their information. <br /> The man who showed up was courteous, informative and efficient, completing the job within the time allotted for the special.  The toilet is fixed, I don't feel price gouged, and I am relieved. <br />"

"The plumber is very knowledgeable and took a lot of time to inspect thoroughly everything to do with the plumbing. When he found something he thought needs attention, he detailed at great length why he thought so. At the end of the visit, he wrote up several ways to attend to anything troublesome with estimates attached. The estimates were in line with those received from other companies. VERY HAPPY with this visit and with the annual contract."

"John was truly a God send after a number of terrible experiences with contractors that were a nightmare to work with.  He was professional, reasonably priced, and did excellent work.  Most importantly, though, he was reliable and trustworthy.  I felt very comfortable with him in the house, whether I was there or not.  I would recommend him to the people I love most, and that is saying a lot.  We will definitely be using him again in the future.   <br /> <br />"

"It went very well. After a bit of a wait, I received a very comprehensive report of 88 specific items as well as bacteria, fungi and particles. Each Item detected over the EPA drinking water limits had an explanation sheet. Also provided was a contact person at the company to address any questions you had about the report findings. I thought the service was well worth the $300 just for the peace of mind. I intend to use the company on an annual basis going forward."

"I asked the provider to plumb the replacement water heaters exactly like the old ones so they would work the same way.  The result was not satisfactory.  The water takes a very long time to get hot and when someone in the house flushes, you feel it!  They also did not replace 10 year old pans. <br />"

"when tech showed up the dryer seemed to be working and heating however it did not when I called, seemed the heating element was cracked creating and off and on working condition. I went ahead to repair the problem by purchasing a new heating element. I was surprised however that the tech expected me to pay in full before he ordered the part and repaired the problem, but I did using my credit card knowing if there was a issue the credit card co. would have my back, The part was order and Alex fixed it as soon as it came in and was great"

"Logan and his crew were very professional in installing the water heater. They were very easy to work with and answered all our questions so we could understand the operations of a tankless heater. We were very pleased with their work and the price. We were also very pleased with the time they took to install the heater. When Logan and his crew came back to install the gas supply to our cook top,we had the same experience with them. I would recommend East Texas Leak Locators very highly to anyone who has plumbing problems or need any kind gas or water lines run"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Mineola, TX

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
