"I used this company for a number of years and the overall service is no longer the same. I had them over to clean my gutters and I witnessed ladders slamming against the side of my house and they tore one of the edges from the corner of my roof with their step ladder. I will not use them going forward."

"I echo everyone else’s reviews here: Hugo and his team do simply the best, most reasonably-priced work around. I only wish that everyone I have to do work around the house was as concerned with quality, professionalism, and attention to detail as Hugo. Highly recommended."

"The walls in my Riverdale co-op apartment were plain and dull. I wanted color, but I knew realistically that I couldn’t do the work, and I didn’t want amateurs making a mess. So, I called CertaPro Painters of Westchester. CertaPro Painters transformed my apartment in just two days! The place looks gorgeous! They did great work, and very clean work because no paint was dripped onto my wood floors. I proudly tell people, “Oh, I had my apartment professionally painted. I used CertaPro Painters of Westchester. You should check them out!” Look, here’s truth. Professional singers sing, professional cooks cook, and professional painters paint. Let the professionals, CertaPro Painters of Westchester, do what they do best. You’ll be so glad you did."

"Awful. These guys came to clean the house. When they left the house was in worse shape than when they started. There was a ton of dirt and grime that was left dripping down my windows and siding. I called to complain and the owner, Josh came out to see the job. Josh agreed it was a terrible job. We set a date for his crew to come out and re-clean the house. They never showed up. Just a horrible experience working with this private company."

"At the time of the service, I assumed they knew what they were doing and didn't monitor them. I contacted Danbury Chimney Cleaning to clean a chimney and a pellet stove insert several months ago. They were supposed to also help with a chimney crown repair but didn't have the necessary ladder. While they initially texted me to schedule the follow up service, they never found a time they could come back since June. They have since stopped returning text messages or calls. Today I noticed that my pellet stove shows an error that is clearly the result of their service. When I started to look into the stove, I found they didn't screw the fire pot tight (I could hand loosen it). I also saw some ash in there despite it not being used since cleaned. I pulled off the back plate and found they didn't even vacuum that. This is something I do regularly during the season, so it's inexcusable that this wouldn't be done as part of an annual service. I will probably need to contact the company that installed the stove to get them to fix the mess that this company left behind. I definitely do not recommend them. Extremely unreliable."

FAQs for gutters & downspouts cleaning service projects in Monroe, CT

You’ll want to clean gutters once or twice a year—in early spring and again in fall—to keep water flowing and avoid pricey leaks. Homes tucked beneath tall trees or hit with heavy debris may need two to four visits instead. Staying on schedule protects your roof, siding, and foundation from costly water damage.

Even with gutter guards, plan on an occasional cleaning—just not as often as homes without guards. Installing gutter guards blocks leaves, but grit and shingle granules still slip through and pile up over time. A quick sweep keeps water moving and stops overflow that can damage your roof or foundation.

Watch for overflowing water, slow or silent downspouts, sagging sections, or debris peeking over the gutter edge. You might also spot water stains, weeds, or an increasing number of ants in certain areas. Any of these red flags means it’s time to call a gutter cleaning pro for service before minor clogs turn into major leaks.

Skip cleanings for too long and gutters overflow, sending water under shingles, down siding, and toward the foundation. The result can be mold, rotted fascia, basement leaks, and repair bills that dwarf the price of a quick cleaning. It can also mean that future cleanings will be more expensive as it will take pros longer to deep clean gutters that are full of heavy debris. Staying on schedule saves money and headaches.

Plan on gutter cleaning service to take an average of one hour for an average single-story home and two to three hours for taller houses. Add extra time if gutter guards need to come off or clogs are packed in. Pros work methodically, clearing every linear foot so water can flow freely again.
