"Had a great experience with Chris.he and his colleague installed three new windows (not replacements), including cutting new openings and redirecting gutters. They were always on time, worked cleanly, cleaned up thoroughly after the job, and offered a very fair price. Highly recommended! Thank you!"

"Auland was great. He replaced a light, fan and mirror in our bathroom. A couple weeks later we had an emergency outside wall that needed a temporary patch job-(a woodpecker had broken through in several spots) Auland covered the holes for us. We will call Auland for any future jobs or repairs that come up."

"I recently hired Kam for a painting project, and I am thoroughly pleased with the results. Kam handled double layers of painting for the ceilings, walls, doors, windows, and kitchen cabinets with precision and professionalism. He used latex/acrylic for the walls and ceilings and applied oil paint for the kitchen cabinets. Kam’s ability to start the project immediately and complete it without any delays was a testament to his reliability and commitment. The quality of his work is evident in the fine attention to detail throughout. The finish on every surface is immaculate, and I couldn’t have imagined a better outcome. If you are looking for a skilled and dependable painter who delivers top-notch results, Kam is an excellent choice."

"The experience with Josh and Bill, from initial estimate to installation, was excellent. There were no surprises regarding the cost and timeline. Josh was available to answer all my questions. "While I did not hire this company ultimately, I remained very impressed that they came to the site fully prepared (they did a ton of research on my property) and were ready to go day one had we chosen to go with them. In the end, we only decided to go with another contractor due to their existing familiarity with the current neighborhood we were in however, Empirevue are a top notch professional company judging by our initial interaction and I will be reaching out to them again for our other projects "

"Steve and his crew are very dedicated and attentive. We hired them to help with a bathroom and kitchen remodel, and do several odd and ends jobs around our home. They are a pleasure to have in our home. They work hard and pay attention to detail. When mishaps occur, they are quick to correct. They strive to please and meet deadlines. Thank you Steve for a great experience. We hope you will be our go to guy for whatever home services we need."

"LCA...Saul did an amazing job on my fence and he also built me a new custom gate! Saul gave me a clear bid including tear down and haul away. He also trimmed my trees and gave me some great tips on staining and how to keep the bottom of my fence line clear to prolong the life of my fence. His team was punctual and professional! I will be hiring him again once the weather is good to replace my French doors! My neighbor also had Saul replace her gate! I definitely would recommend Saul to anyone needing fence and home repair. You won't be disappointed! Here are the before and after fence pics. "

FAQs for doors (interior) installation and replacement projects in Monroe, WA

If your existing frame is in good shape, you can replace an interior door without changing the frame. This is a budget-friendly option because it saves on the cost of removing and installing a new frame. By choosing a slab door that fits your current frame, you'll save on labor and materials. Just make sure the new door matches the old one's dimensions for a smooth replacement.

Standard interior doors are 80 inches tall and range from 28 to 32 inches wide. Interior doors vary from 24 to 36 inches wide, depending on their purpose and the available space. Building codes require interior doors to be at least 80 inches tall and 24 inches wide. Knowing standard sizes helps you select a new door that fits properly in your existing opening.

It costs $600 to $2,000 or more to move an inside door. The total price depends on your location, the type of door, and materials needed to complete the project. Moving an interior door requires walling up the leftover space and opening up a new wall where you want the door to go instead. You’ll also want to plan for the expense of framing the new wall opening and adding trim.

Exterior door installation costs an average of $1,175, with a typical range of $525 to $1,800. The higher expense compared to the cost of interior doors comes from the need for exterior doors to be weather-proofed and they are often made of thicker, more durable materials. The associated exterior hardware must also be able to withstand harsh weather, so these cost more as well.

It costs between $300 to $2,500 to make a doorway wider on average. However, the wider you need the space to be, the more it will cost. Some homeowners choose to widen interior doorways to make the house more wheelchair accessible. In order to be wheelchair accessible, an interior door needs to be at least 32 to 36 inches wide. Also, some older homes just have narrow doorways due to the nature of how homes were built differently many decades ago.

It takes between two to five hours for a professional door installer to install an interior door, depending on complexity and materials. A pre-hung door typically takes around two hours, and larger doors like double French doors can take up to five hours. If you’re doing the project yourself, expect it to take a little longer than that, especially if you have little to no experience completing this type of project. Keep in mind that a pre-hung door can be installed about an hour or two faster than a slab door.
