"Excellent service.  Refrigerator was not cooling properly.  They came within an hour of when we called and updated us on their location.  Believe the repairman's name was Danny.  Very friendly, fast and he did the job and told us how to prevent a reoccurence.  A little more expensive than we would have liked for the time spent, etc., but we were very happy.  We probably could have paid a lot more for a lot less.   We'd definitely call them again. <br />"

"ssThis is a seasonal cottage built ages ago on piers/stone columns with no foundation.  All of a sudden the bedroom floor developed a sag and bounce!  We thought that a pier had given way.  We called this company - they were the only ones in the area who seemed like they could do the work.  The day after we called, they went and inspected and from the outside, thought it was a collapsed pier from water run off from the hill behind the house.  We met them onsite a few days later in freezing cold winter weather, when they dug a hole (under the plywood sheathing that had been placed around the columns in the belief that it would keep the inside warmer in winter) and scurried through ... and inspected under the cottage. They determined that joists under the bedroom and utility area and sub-flooring had rotted out due to trapped moisture (no venting in that area because of plywood sheathing!) and mold (sill plates were OK).  They pulled out some to show us - crumbly and soft!  It was amazing that the bedroom had not fallen in completely.  <br /> Tackling the job from above, they removed the finished engineered wood floor in the bedroom (saving 98%) of it for reuse, took up rotted oak sub-floor, removed rotten joists, installed new piers, jacked up settled portions of cottage, sistered joists under the utility area as they were not accessible from above, replaced all joists under bedroom with pressure treated ones, installed new insulation between joists, installed pressure treated plywood sub-floor, replaced engineered finished floor that had been saved <br /> Then, because of settlement over time, and the fact that the cottage was now level again, the separation of the ceiling from the walls that had occurred were now closed, but settlement cracks in wall remained.  They spackled, compounded, replaced trim, etc. as necessary and then repainted bedroom, bathroom, and living area. <br /> The men were friendly, responsive, and trustworthy.  We were lucky to find them - Thank you, Angie's List - and are pleased that it worked out so well.  We don't know what we would have done otherwise!"

Indoor Air Technologies, Inc. (IAT), formed in June 1994, was one of the pioneers in the Mechanical Cleaning of HVAC Systems. A locally owned, New York State Certified Woman Business Enterprise based in Victor, New York, IAT is a leader in Mechanical Cleaning of HVAC Systems projects Nation Wide.\n\nIAT maintains impeccable references as well as membership in the Better Business Bureau, Better Contractors Bureau and the National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA). \n\nAwareness of Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) issues have increased substantially in recent years due to increased media attention and lawsuits as well as government and private research. High costs are associated with poor IAQ, including lost worker productivity, absenteeism, higher health care expenses, shorter equipment life and court settlement awards. \n\nIAT has worked closely with leading Engineering and Architectural Companies, Industrial Hygienists, HVAC/ Mechanical Contractors, Plant Maintenance and Fire Restoration Companies. IAT maintains an outstanding reputation and is confident we can service your needs. \n\nA building's heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system provides conditioned air to occupied spaces within the facility. Typically, air from within an occupied space, along with fresh air drawn from outdoors, in drawn in through ductwork to an HVAC unit, where it is conditioned. Before the air gets to the unit, it usually passes through a filter designed to protect the mechanical equipment from becoming contaminated by large particles of dust and debris. Many filters commonly used today will not prevent the introduction of small particles of dust and debris from the air stream into the system. Over time, these deposits may form sizable accumulations.\n\nIn the course of normal building operations, the humidity level within the HVAC system can vary greatly. High humidity can combine with dust and debris in the system, often resulting in the growth of microbial contamination. In an HVAC system, microbial contamination (such as mold, fungus and their spores) may cause adverse health reactions among building occupants. Condense drain pans and other system components often become heavily contaminated with fungal and bacterial slime.\n\nIn order to maintain acceptable indoor air quality (IAQ) it is commonly recommended that mold, fungi, dust and other contaminants are cleaned out of the HVAC system. Cleaning HVAC systems provides many benefits. Cleaning lessens the likelihood of indoor air pollution in the building, and may help to alleviate health and comfort complaints by occupants. Clean HVAC systems perform more efficiently, which may decrease energy costs. Well maintained mechanical components are likely to last longer, reducing the need for costly HVAC system replacement or repairs.\n\nWith growing awareness of the dangers of indoor air pollution, public concern for the cleanliness of ventilation systems has led to significant increase in demand for HVAC system cleaning services. Solving complex IAQ problems, however, often requires a team of multi-disciplined professionals, such as mechanical contractors, filtration experts, test and balance specialists, industrial hygienists, and, of course, professional HVAC system cleaning contractors.
