"Duramax got back to me the same day I called and was out the next day to look at the guttering. I got an estimate for the work that day which was reasonable for the work that needed to be done and told them to go ahead with the repair. The crew was out on Monday, less than a week after I had contacted Duramax, and got the majority of the work done that day. There turned out to be some additional damage that needed to be repaired that took a little longer than expected so they finished up this morning (Wednesday - it rained all day Tuesday; gutter was in place they just needed to close up the underside and clean-up). As with the work that they did on the shingled part of the roof I am delighted with the work Duramax has done."

"I am highly pleased with the new roof (Owens Corning Duration) and the work Moss Roofing performed. More than one layer of shingles were present when I purchased the house, and roof leaks developed in two rooms on opposite sides of the house. One of these areas had a low slope (2/12), and Benny suggested an alternate rubber material used on flat roofs for this portion of the roof. He also built a diversion in this area to channel water away from a corner where water would get trapped against the wall. I can't notice the difference from the ground, and it has improved my peace of mind to know this area is now draining properly for the first time ever, ice accumulation will not be an issue, and I won't have to fix the closet ceiling more than once! Benny also replaced some old deteriorated trim boards and installed insulated hoses in the attic to vent the bathroom fans properly. The whole crew was professional, hard working, and cleaned up after themselves. I originally considered a contractor certified platinum by Owens Corning with a slightly better warranty (on the labor portion only, material warranty is equivalent), however Owens Corning dictates that all materials be made by them for the platinum warranty. Moss Roofing is a preferred Owens Corning contractor, but could work outside the box a little more (e.g. they used Lomanco vents as this company focuses on vents only and out-performs Owens Corning in this area). With the money I saved and the quality of work performed, I am confident I made the right selection."

"We recently had our roof replaced by Bone Dry Roofing. The entire process, working with John Borwoy our sales rep with Bone Dry, homeowners insurance and choosing new roofing shingles was a smooth process. John helped us throughout the entire process and kept us informed with each step. As issues came up, there was great communication with John to solve each situation. The workers who removed the old shingles and installed the new ones were simply the best. The foreman of the crew, Gerardo, was the best. He kept us informed when a problem arose with the decking and let us know how it was being resolved. He did keep in touch with us throughout the whole job. Cleanup was very thorough. We would recommend Bone Dry Roofing to anyone!"

"I am very happy with the service I rec'd from Jordan Roofing. They were very professional and respectful. It was clear that Don Jordan knew what he was talking about. He worked around my busy schedule to come out and explain exactly what needed to be done and how things would be done. They did quality work and I ended up with a really nice looking roof. I would definitely recommend Jordan Roofing to my family and friends. <br />"

"Best experience I have ever had when purchasing a new roof. Started exactly when they stated. Even had a couple surprises that where handled. The area looked better than it did after they left no trash on the ground and no nails. I will definitely hire again for rental properties. Very professional and got an estimate right after they looked at the roof while I was with Rodney. Highly recommend this company to anyone from shingles to metal roofing."

"<p>We needed to get a new roof and called around for estimates. The company sent a very professional and knowledgeable guy the same day. We also had the estimate the same day as our initial call. That was very impressive. He took a lot of time explaining the ins and outs of the different roof types to us and was very patient with all the questions we had. We ended up choosing a different provider but not because of a lack of trust toward Jackson Contracting Inc.</p>"

"Ed responded quickly to my request for an estimate for gutters.  He emailed an estimate right after seeing the house and called me a day after he sent it to make sure I realized that my chimneys were in poor condition and were allowing water penetration into the attic (which was true).  After discussion about chimney repairs and the condition of the current roof (just bought the house, and the inspector had rated it in just fair condition), we decided to replace the roof.  As soon as we had worked out the contract, Ed brought materials to the house, and the crew started the job the next day.  The crew were punctual, polite, and professional, and they worked diligently for two long days (11 hours on day 1 and another 9 hours on day 2).  Ed did the chimney work himself and explained a lot about the repairs and roofing as he went.  He is dedicated to using high quality materials and doing things the right way.  He used  the proper ridge cap shingles on the ridges, instead of regular 3-tab roof shingles, which many roofers use to cut corners, and installed extensive ice and water shield around chimneys, valleys, and the porch roof.  The crew cleaned up the yard each day and collected all nails, and Ed checked everything and did additional clean-up himself before leaving.  He gave notice of expected arrival times, and he kept in touch about all aspects of the work.  His color suggestions for shingles and gutters were great, and the house looks fantastic. <br />"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Mooreland, IN

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
