"Kirkland's Custom Cabinets installed some oak cabinets in our kitchen 15 years ago when we built our house. They were very professional and did an excellent job. We recently bought a double oven and it was wider than our old one. We had Kirkland's build a new cabinet to fit the new ovens. They built the new cabinet, took out the old one and installed the new one. They stained it to exactly match the old cabinet that was 15 years old. We went to them in October 2013 and were told that they were booked up and couldn't get to our cabinet until after Christmas. They surprised us and installed it just before Thanksgiving. They were great 15 years ago and again in November 2013. I would highly recommend them. <br />"

"Kevin & crew were on time, efficient and very attentive to detail. The first crew tore out old cabinets and then the next crew was ready with the new cabinets. A painter was also on duty to caulk and touch up."

"FANTASTIC.  Called on a Tuesday, was told Thursday was his day to evaluate jobs.  Scheduled for him to come.  He was prompt and polite. <br /> Quoted me a price right then and there and agreed to have the cabinet back to my by the following Tuesday. <br /> The new box is amazing.  Such better quality than the original.  Fit right back in place without any problems.  I now have a fully enclosed sturdy beautiful cabinet. <br /> When we redo more cabinets we will be calling Chris!  Go look at his website the actual work is even better than the pictures and they are fantastic. <br />"

"Brad was great to work with. Very friendly and confident in his work. The recent cold and wet weather caused a few delays and issues, but when the weather got nicer, they were back on the job and fixed the few minor issues caused by the weather. The limestone foundation was had a lot of cracks and crevices, but was covered very well. Only found a few spots that were quickly fixed where the shadows and cracks hid whether it was painted thoroughly or not. The job site was kept straightened and the crew was courteous and professional. I'm sure I'll have paint work in the future and I know who I will be calling. Highly recommend."

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Mooresville, AL

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
