"VERY PROFESSIONAL;  WE ARE VERY SATISFIED WITH BOTH THE ROOF AND THE PAINT JOB.  ALEX, THE ROOFING CREW LEADER, WAS VERY ATTENTIVE TO ALL OF MY PLANTS AND BUSHES I HAVE AROUND MY HOME.  THEY TOOK GREAT CARE AND SPECIAL ATTENTION TO ENSURE EVERYTHING WAS COVERED PROPERLY.  THE CLEAN UP DURING THE JOB AND AFTER WAS VERY GOOD.  THE ROOF LOOKS AMAZING.  THE PAINTERS WERE JUST AS ATTENTIVE TO DETAIL.  A VERY GREAT EXPERIENCE AND I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE LOOKING FOR ROOFING OR PAINTING WORK.  "

"I was extremely impressed both with the company's professionalism and timely communication.  Jerry Lanier was very courteous in his dealings with me.  We ended up using a different provider due to a pre-existing relationship with that provider.  However, Lanier Roofing is clearly a top-notch company, and I would highly recommend them for consideration for your future roofing needs. <br />"

"I wanted a certified and experienced professional to handle my new roof installation and I found him. Mr Hamby and his roofing crew got the job done right and exceeded my expectations. All of the materials used are of a higher quality than the original roof. When the old roof was removed he also found some rotted decking because the roofers that put on the original roof did not seal up their toe board holes. He fixed the decking and I am relieved that I do not have to worry about things like that with the roof he installed! I highly recommend Mr Hamby for a roof repair or entire roof replacement."

"<hr /> I was very pleased with how thorough Yilber was. I am very happy with everything.  My house is gray and I had planned to have "safe" black roof installed.  Yilber suggested a brown roof.  I was very reluctant.  He wasn't pushy, but he assured me that I wouldn't regret the choice.  I love the brown roof!  It gives the home a rich, sophisticated look.  <br /> There was significant damage to the interior caused by the damaged roof.  You can't even tell it was repaired.  They did a really nice job matching the stencil pattern on the ceiling.  <br /> The chimney looks great too.  <br /> Given all the work that was done, the price was very reasonable. It was more than what my insurance company estimated.  But, Yilber was able to justify the work and cost to the insurance adjuster.  I would recommend this company others looking for a roofer and other contracting work."

"Brandon Wilkes and Humbled Roofing & Restoration were superb from day 1. Brandon was so helpful walking us through how to go about contacting our insurance to get our wind damaged roof repaired. He even made sure he was here when the insurance adjuster came. He went above and beyond with his excellent customer service. He made what could've been a stressful process stress free. He was available at anytime with any questions we had. When they worked on our roof, they were very efficient and careful not to damage any of our yard and very diligent when it came to clean up. By the end of the day, we had an amazing new roof! I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I will definitely recommend this company to anyone!"

"We called Hewatt Roofing after having another roofer solicit us for roofing repairs. Our neighborhood had been heavily canvased by roofers claiming our homes had defective shingles and needed full roof replacements. We were skeptical of these other roofers' claims, so we researched local quality roofers. We decided to give Hewatt Roofing a call because they have been in business for a long time, have a good track record with the BBB, and are highly rated on Angie's List. I believe that Jerry Hewatt himself came out. He did the inspection (for free) and told us that our roof looked like it was in good shape, and that we did not in fact have the defective shingles. He was very friendly, informative, and prompt. I would not hesitate to call him again if I found I needed a roofing inspection or repairs. <br />"

"We would like to take this opportunity to very highly recommend Hopewell Roofing, a GAF Master Elite Roofing Contractor. Our son recently had his roof replaced for hail damage so we contacted his roofing contractor, Hopewell Roofing. We had a great initial conversation with their representative James Russell. James met with us a couple days later and came prepared with a very professional brochure that contained their roofing guarantee, insurance, and other vital information. He was a very pleasant and personable young man who discussed all of the details and answered all of our questions. After checking out our roof and shooting pictures with his drone, he researched recent hail storm dates and then contacted our home insurance agent together with us in the kitchen. They scheduled a meeting at our house and James worked with the insurance agent and secured approval for our roof replacement cost minus our deductible. James then put together a very detailed proposal. No question was left unanswered and all phone calls and texts were returned very quickly. The contract proposal highlighted all of the actions that would be taken with a detailed description. Upon signing the contract the roof work was scheduled. The material and trailer was delivered when they said it would be delivered. They came the following day and started the two and half day project of working and completing only a section at a time of our large and steep 5000 sq. ft. roof in case it rained. They covered all of our bushes with canvas and even created teepees using plywood over my wife’s flowers around the house to protect them. When completed, they did a thorough cleanup of the yard that included using a large magnet to pick up any nails that had fallen. Andy Morrison, the owner of the roofing company, came the first day to meet with us. Brandon, the Project Manager, was there for the whole project and the 10 man roofing crew was led by Mario. They all worked together like a well-oiled machine. Brandon and Mario kept us updated throughout the project. They were very good about communicating and kept is informed of every step along the way. The process from beginning to end was smooth, fast, and efficient. We would very highly recommend Hopewell Roofing to our family and friends."

"Good morning! I see that I have the same problem as other customers. I used this company for new roof and gutters several years ago. I had a roof put on my current residence in 2017. The contractor they sent started the job then disappeared for several days saying that he was in the middle of another job. They would arrive late and the reasoning would be they were coming from Suwanee. If that was an issue why take a job in the Decatur/Lithonia area? My roof had been leaking for several weeks now. I have had 1 appointment rescheduled and the contractor was a no show Sunday 1/12. I have now left several messages with no return call. I'm not sure what has happened to this company over the years but the customer service sucks and the receptionist should be replaced. . . No telephone etiquette! Buyer Beware! I will update review when/if I get reponse"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Moreland, GA

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
