"Aaron and his crew were great. Bought a house with an undisclosed water issue. He understood my frustrations, did the planning for the repair and executed in a timely manner. Was always available to call, discuss, explain and was very helpful along the way. Hope I never have the issue in another house but would call if need be!"

"These guys renewed my faith in humanity! Their work was impeccable, they were on time, and cleaned up after the job was complete. We live in a very old historical property and Jim and Lou went to great lengths to avoid disturbing any of the original fabric on the house. After dealing with several companies that were no shows and price gougers, these guys showed themselves to be HVAC professionals. Couldn't be happier with this experience, kudos to Jim and Lou, thank you guys very much."

"Second time i had an issue with then over charging me. I had setup an appointment for salt delivery and to check the water filtration system. In between the scheduling and the appointment the water filter issue resolved itself, they insist on still charging me $150 for the service visit ex the salt delivery. Keep in mind one technician came out to put salt in the water softener and “check” water system. I never got a bill or adked to sign anything, they just charged the card on file. Random charge just shows up on my credit card. Borderline fraudulent activity here. Would be very careful using them if you are a new customer. Further there filters are custom so you need them to change the filter every 4-6 months which you can only use them and they charge near $500 for this. Be really careful with this company! Not to mention they don't tell you, your water pressure goes down by 40% when u install this stuff!"

"The first thing everyone needs to understand is Bertoli Plumbing and Heating has been around for over 20+ years. My family and I have been using them for decades. However, about 2 years ago or so, Mark Bertoli sold the company to someone new who kept the same name. The person he sold that company to has ZERO plumbing experience. Most of the employees that worked under Mark retired or quit, and the new owner absolutely price gouges the long time Bertoli customers. Recently I engaged Bertoli for two bathroom projects, where I was told by them, it would take 3 days for the first bathroom and 7-10 days for the second. I was out two showers for 3 months! I finally was able to use my first shower after 3 months, and could not use my master shower until 4 months! I took off from work several times so they could finish the project only for them to no call/no show. This is the most unprofessional services company across any field I have every used since owning my own home for 20 years now. STAY AWAY!"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Morris Plains, NJ

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
