"We hired Lance for a small tile job and kept him employed for over a calendar year. He is a perfectionist in every project we ever gave him to do. He is incredible at tile work, Sheetrock, mud, taping, lath and plaster repair, texturing, framing, flooring, millwork, concrete… the only thing he didn’t tackle for us was electrical and plumbing. He cleans up after himself, puts tools away, and leaves the space put back together. I kept him employed for so long and kept giving him work because he did such good work. He has become a friend to me and my family. I wish that I had unlimited money to keep him working all the time."

"Ray and his son could not have been better. My husband was the one who was there while the work was done and he came home with a glowing report. He was impressed with the quality of the water heaters Ray provided and with Ray's knowledge and skill. He also said Ray was just a likable guy and enjoyable to talk to. My husband usually installs faucets himself, but since Ray was scheduled to be there, we asked him to do it. We were so glad we did. The previous homeowner had done some pretty creative configuration under the sink in his do-it-yourself faucet installation and even Ray had his work cut out for him getting things properly aligned and getting the new one in. My husband thought that might have taken more of Ray's time than installing the two new water heaters did! Ray also was able to instantly diagnose and repair the master bathtub drain that had been leaking into the crawlspace. After all was said and done, Ray charged us exactly what he promised for the water heaters (which was a bit less than Sears would have been) and only $90 extra for installing the faucet and fixing the tub drain, even though the faucet was a time consuming pain. We would absolutely have Ray back and asked for a stack of business cards to give our friends and neighbors. "

"Very professional, showed up exactly when he said he was going to show up. It took 2 1/2 days to completely strip the roof to the wood and reroof. He used tarps all the way around the house to keep all of the scrap cleaned up, and used a magnetic sweeper to ensure that all nails were cleaned up from the site. He went the extra mile when he found that the vent holes were way to small and that I should have one more vent added. He cut the holes bigger and added the extra vent at no cost. I have had other work/remodeling done by other contractors, and John was by far the best to work with, and had the best quality of work of all of them. For my roofing needs, I will only go with John in the future."

"After hiring Jess Construction last year, we were completely happy with the work and the cost of our previous remodel. So we rehired them to do many new projects this year. Things went excellently this year, and we are perfectly satisfied with the work again. Our house looks beautiful inside and out, and it's completely updated now. Our garage used to be a huge messy pile of stuff that we had never properly stored. Now we can park both cars inside, we have organized and stored all our stuff, and have plenty of new storage space in the cabinets and shelves if we need it later. Plus we have a very nice little work shop. Inside, we finished the last bathroom update, and it is beautiful. Our walls and staircase are all spruced up, no cracks in the ceiling, great paint job. The woodwork and trim is even cleaned up and refinished. The exterior paint job included lots of sanding and removal of old peeling paint from our cedar siding. Bill went way above and beyond what any other painting contractor would have done. All our siding and trim is now restored and looks fantastic. I would say Bill is a perfectionist. Even so, he always finished the work on time. He never left our job to work on another, never made us wait, and was always on schedule, even if there were unanticipated problems (in remodeling there always are). He worked extra, when he needed, so he always stayed on schedule. We recommended him to several friends, and they are also fully satisfied with the work he did for them. <br />"

FAQs for handyman service projects in Moscow, ID

Winterizing shields your home’s structure and key systems from snow, ice, and freezing temperatures. By sealing drafts and tuning up heaters, you cut energy waste, extend the life of appliances and windows, and avoid surprise repair bills. A small up-front investment keeps rooms cozy and protects the value of your biggest asset all winter long.

Yes, it’s important to prepare your sprinkler system for the winter. Blowing out the lines and insulating above-ground parts keeps valves and pipes from splitting when temperatures drop. A quick winterization visit costs far less than repairing burst components in spring, and it ensures your lawn--and your wallet--stay in good shape once the thaw hits.

A full home winterization plan goes beyond sealing windows and pipes. You might schedule a home energy audit, cover outdoor furniture, service the snowblower, swap smoke-detector batteries, add outlet gaskets, and hang storm doors. Each step beefs up your home’s protection, cuts drafts, and lowers the chance of costly cold-weather damage.
