Customers say: Quality work

"We hired Tony and his crew from Form and Pour Cement Works and couldn't be happier. When my wife and I moved into our home, we quickly discovered some major drainage issues that needed to be addressed right away. Tony and his team regraded and pour a new cement patio, front sidewalk and steps to our entryway, and replaced the first 12 feet of slab in front of our garage. We were impressed with Tony's hardwork-ethic, skill, and craftsman ship, as well as the speed of their work. We now have all of our water grading issues accounted for and will be able to enjoy our new concrete work for years to come. We highly recommend Form and Pour Concrete Works! You won't be disappointed."

"I am writing this review to let anyone looking for someone to hire for concrete work, such as driveway and patio to check out Kali Concrete. We had them do both, and are very happy we did. I knew when we bought the home the driveway needed to be replaced. I started getting bids and had sticker shock! Troy was my third bid, but I felt I could trust him right away. His bid came in much more reasonable, and his workmanship was unbelievable. He did things we didn't even think of! The crew was awesome, and very personable. I have had many neighbors stop and say how great my driveway looks. Now I smile when I see my driveway, and the improvement it has made in our home. Thanks Troy for your work. ~Floyd & Lori Spangenberg"

"We were very pleased with Trinity's work! Travis and his team did a beautiful job installing a new patio in our backyard. We felt they were very thorough, there was a lot of excavating to do prior to pouring the concrete and they didn't take any shortcuts. Travis kept us updated every step of the way, explaining their work and next steps. As others said, the start of the project was a bit delayed due to rain and their busy schedule, but we would absolutely hire again! Several of our neighbors commented that the crew was super polite and easy to work with (we have a narrow alley so the crew had to move at times). We've gotten so many compliments on the finished work. Thank you Travis and Trinity!!"

"Exceeded expectations! The driveway looks great plus they repaired the adjacent disturbed lawn and sprinkler system as well. They were also very contentious of the dust that was going to be generated when cutting the joints that they let me know of a side window that was open. I would definitely hire them again and you will love the work they do!"

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Mound, MN

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
