"While their countertops are amazingly beautiful their customer service when a situation arises is unacceptable. We paid $7.6K for countertops and our brand new oak flooring was scratched during the process and they will not accept accountability. Their response was, and I quote "You should check with the plumber or electrician or who every came after us on friday". Well guess what, no one came after them on Friday so it's not possible the scratch was from someone else. In addition, when they arrived to template the countertop I advised Hector that I had a butcher block insert for the sink, of which I showed him and he said no problem, well the butcher block did not fit in the sink insert when they installed it. Lastly, the newly taped walls were scratched upon installation as well. I will not utilize or recommend Douro Granite and Marble LLC in the future."

We are a general contractor so we do have subs that work with us. The advantage is that it is the same crews on every project that we do. We don't bid out jobs and get the cheapest company to do the work and keep the savings for us. We always have the same quality on every project we do.

FAQs for countertops installation projects in Mount Kisco, NY

Porcelain countertops provide an affordable alternative to granite countertops. Granite installations cost $50 to $200 per square foot, while porcelain costs $50 to $70 per square foot. High-end porcelain prices surpass those of lower-grade granite installations, yet standard off-the-shelf porcelain remains less expensive than most granite options. The material is non-porous, UV-proof, maintenance-free, and exhibits superior damage resistance.

Porcelain countertops offer an improved value when compared with quartz countertops. Quartz installations cost $50 to $200 per square foot, while porcelain costs $50 to $70 per square foot. Lower-quality builder’s grade quartz incorporates additional resin and fillers that diminish its vibrancy and performance. Porcelain resists heat and staining and minimizes surface damage, making it a superior and resilient choice for discerning homeowners.

Porcelain countertops are exceptionally durable and rarely chip during everyday use. They are stronger and more resistant to damage than many natural stone options. However, if a heavy object causes a chip, it can be challenging to repair. Replacing the affected section may be the best solution to maintain the countertop's appearance.

Installing a porcelain countertop takes between one and three days, depending on the size and complexity of your project. The installation process includes removing the old countertop, taking precise measurements, making necessary cutouts, and installing the new countertop properly. By hiring a professional for installation, you’ll ensure a smooth installation process and lasting results.

Consider pairing your porcelain countertop installation with other upgrades to create a cohesive look and potentially save on labor costs. Enhancements like updating cabinets, improving flooring, or refreshing fixtures can elevate your kitchen's aesthetic and add long-term value to your home. When you pair these jobs with porcelain countertop installation, you’ll often find discounted labor rates from local contractors.

Porcelain slabs are engineered with a defined thickness that balances aesthetics and functionality. They measure either 1/4-inch or 1/2-inch to accommodate diverse applications such as wall cladding, shower surrounds, and cabinet facades. The slim profile demands expert handling during fabrication and installation to preserve structural integrity and visual appeal.
