"We hired King’s Renovations to renovate our kitchen, install new carpet and flooring. The project took about 2 months. Here are just a couple issues we had with them. There were some dents on the lower parts of the wall throughout the house after the carpet was removed and the flooring was installed, we asked them to patch and paint them since it was damaged during the removal of the carpet and there was some hesitation from Salvador saying it “wasn’t in their scope” but he fixed most of the dents. During the removal of the flooring in the restroom they stumbled upon an air vent that was covered by the previous owners, they suggested we leave it open. We appreciated they communicated with us with that odd find. However, while removing carpet in the living room they came across a random wire that was cut off sticking up from the floor covered by the carpet. Instead of consulting with us they drilled a hole in the new flooring and ran the wire through the hole leaving it exposed. Sadly we noticed the wire days after the job was done and when we asked Salvador about it he said there was two options. OPTION ONE; they cut the wire and put black paste over the hole, and OPTION TWO; take half of the flooring off, cut the wire, then add a new floor board(but that would cost extra). Super dissatisfied how the situation was handled. They were not consistent with communication. OVERALL, at a glance they did a great job, but with the hesitation of fixing issues they caused and not paying attention to detail, I would not suggest them or be a returning customer."

"I was extremely nervous about shipping my vehicle through a transport service, but Guy (my contact at United Freight) was extremely helpful and educated me on all the options available and what questions to ask even of other carriers. He was in daily contact with me, as was the driver who picked up at my door and delivered to my son's driveway in Chicago. The pick up was on-time and delivery was actually ahead of schedule. "The entire process was handled in a timely fashion.  The estimate was given and a date set for the work along with a scheduled completion date.  More damage was discovered once the siding was removed and additional repairs were needed that were not part of the initial estimate.  The workman showed up early and worked for 2-3 days to get the job finished.  Where the story gets interesting and what has endeared A-1 to me as a contractor I have used 2 more times since the above mentioned repairs were done is as follows.  After the repairs were complete I was anxious for our first wind driven winter rain storm which was the only set of circumstances that the leak manifested itself.  It took a few weeks for this to happen and much to my dismay when the rain was driving into the south wall I still found evidence of water coming inside the house in the same spot as it had before.  A call to A-1 the following day had the foreman back out to the house to investigate the problem.  After some investigative work it was determined that one of the workman had damaged the flange of one of the vinyl windows that they had re-installed.  This tear had caused the continued leaking.  Now I am sure you are thinking to yourself, why would you recommend someone who make a mistake in a repair job?  There is no way that I could have determined that the damage to the window flange was something that pre-existed the work that was done or if it was caused by the work that was performed by A-1.  A-1's foreman theorized that one of their workman caused the damage inadvertently when re-installing the window.  A-1's owner contacted me and said that they would cover the cost to remove the window and replace it with a new one as it was their error.  As it turns out I upgraded to a better window and paid the difference on the window but that was it.  A-1 took care of it as promised and the window has been trouble free for 5 years.  I was so impressed by their honesty that I have used them for two subsequent repair jobs in the past year.  Having dealt with unscrupulous contractors in the past, this was a refreshing change to find someone that actually stands behind their work.  I have recommended them to several friends and co-workers who have been in need of repair services.  And I would heartily recommend them to you as well. <br />"

"Very well. Though Casey maintains a very busy schedule, he and his assistant Misty were able to fit the repair into their schedule soon after receiving my call. It turned out that one of the rollers had fallen off of the garage door, which was putting tremendous stress on certain parts of the door. In time, the door would have buckled and collapsed. Casey, with Misty's assistance, worked efficiently to repair the door, which required making some adjustments to the area where the problem occurred. Before leaving, Casey tightened every screw and nut, and he lubed the door in all of the necessary places. it now works perfectly."

"In moving to Bellingham in August of 2010, we purchased a condominium that had a problem with water leaking into the crawlspace. Even though the HOA periodically pumped the water out, we wanted a more efficient and permanent solution. The building inspector for our home personally recommended Mark and 'The Carpenter's Brother' as a company that does all types of home repair, including sump and crawlspace work. We met with Mark and he quickly assessed the problem and laid out a simple sump and drainage system that would keep the crawlspace dry, protecting the wood superstructure of the building from eventual mold and rot. Mark and his son quickly did the trenching for drainage and added drain tile and rock. They then installed the sump system and replaced the vapor barrier that had been pushed out of the way by the people that had been doing the periodic pumping. The crawlspace is now clean and dry and the pump is working perfectly so far. Mark and his son were a pleasure to work with and were always easily accessible, on time, and very professional.
