"We had Dan Hargrave (and 2 other companies) come out to inspect our home and give us an estimate on potential repairs. Typically foundation companies start with measuring the elevation differences from a central point in the home to several other areas of the home to determine any problem areas. All 3 companies did this. What made Hargrave different is that his evaluation and suggestion made significantly more sense than the other companies. All companies agreed that the back wall of our home was dropping and needed support. However, the other 2 companies had both assumed (and had convinced me) that if the back wall needed to come up, the outside garage wall would need to come up as well. This made sense to me until Dan did his evaluation. Dan was the only person to measure the drop in the garage. The other stated they didn't measure the garage floor because of the intentional grade to allow drainage. This again made sense, but Dan measured to at least confirm the garage was level from side to side, taking the grade into account. What he determined was the outside garage wall was already high, and lifting the back wall would bring it back in line with the outside wall. Dan also noticed another issue that the other 2 companies hadn't seen due to a lack of measurements. However, he stated he would actually wait on that work, keep an eye on it and if it continued to get worse . . only then to have them back out to repair that area. Repairing it now would lead to additional separation inside and unless it got worse, he wouldn't suggest the work be done right now. This gave me a lot of faith that he truly recommending what he thought was best for me, and not what was best for his profits. They were on time when the work was scheduled to start and had the job completed in a few hours. The foreman was thorough and walked me through his decisions on how far to jack up the house and when to stop. The crew did an amazing job of cutting up our deck to do the repairs and putting it back together where it is almost impossible to see it had been removed. They even fixed the cracks in the brick, though they said they typically don't do that anymore. I couldn't be happier with the evaluation, recommendation, communication, work, clean up and price. I have already recommended them to others and would be happy to do so in the future."

"We bought an older home and had toilet backup issues just a few weeks after moving in. I called 3 "A" rated plumbers on Angie's List. Jack was very reasonably priced when compared to the other two I contacted (one of those companies wanted $370/hr on the weekend). Jack spent a 1/2 day trying to clear obstructions from the downstairs toilet -- he pulled out cotton shop towels, masking tape and other items likely left by remodelers hired by the previous owner. He also pulled tree roots out which was a bad sign. Unable to clear the blockage, he brought a crew back on Monday to trace the line using an electronic device. Since the line didn't have cleanouts, it's wasn't apparent how the line went from the house to the street. Jack brought an excavator and proceeded to take out the old line (which was packed full) and clear blockages both to the house and from the curb to the street. He installed new PVC pipe with 3 cleanouts. I'm thankful that we were able to connect to existing pipe and didn't have to tear up the new patio. Jack and his crew are a hard workers - spending 11+ hours on this job. He had given me a quote prior to doing the work and actually gave a significant discount since he didn't have to dig as deep as originally thought (4 ft. vs. 7 ft). I would trust him to do any work I have in the future and he will be the first one I call."

"I contacted Luke Spitale (Owner/Manager) who came out and discussed options and made recommendations to ensure a quality product. His crew showed up the morning of the pour and immediately began preparing the rebar, wire, and vapor barrier. The crew controlled all aspects of the pour and directed the concrete drivers where to go to ensure no damage was done to the property or driveway. They used laser levels to ensure the depth of material and slope was maintained throughout the pour. They stayed on site for approximately 10 hours to ensure a "slick finish" that met my requirements was left as the final product.  This took extra time due to the very cold temperatures which delayed the concrete from "setting up".  These guys were respectful of my property and were professional (on time, no profanity, cleaned up before leaving). I couldn't be happier with their work and will only use Stars and Stripes for similar concrete projects. There are many concrete finishers out there, but these guys have worked together for over 9 years on word of mouth. That should speak volumes to others worried about who they're hiring..."

"UNQUESTIONABLY and ABSOLUTELY THE BEST YOU WILL FIND!!!  From my initial contact with Andrew (Co-owner), I was thoroughly impressed by his PROFESSIONALISM and KNOWLEDGE of the products and application processes.  In today's business world, I am what you would refer to as a Skeptic and always on the lookout for scams.  Therefore, I had studied up prior to talking to Andrew and meeting with him to discuss our project and desires.  He is an enthusiastic and compassionate person, whom which carries himself with confidence and stands behind his (their) product and company.  He was able to answer every question and concern I had, and as a result, we did not hesitate to schedule our floor to be completed.  As you can tell, meeting Andrew was great, however, meeting Carey (Co-owner) added to the [AAA] satisfaction and experience had with this project and the outcome.  From the time Carey and his team arrived to start the project they were punctual, professional, courteous, neat, clean and explained in detail every step of the process.  Throughout  the project, which took three days due to the stages that this needs to occur to get the PROFESSIONAL RESULTS one desires when having this done, Carey was continuously asking if we had questions, concerns and/or were pleased.  Andrew, Carey the Team (Josh and Sergio) at Limitless Innovations LLC, by far, EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS (and that isn't easy to do for this 30+ year military retiree) and we can't wait to be one of the many REPEAT CUSTOMERS that they have had to date.  If you are considering installing a decorative Epoxy floor covering and/or are wanting to have decorative Stain applied to your concrete... whether in your home or out, PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF SOME TIME and LOOK NO FURTHER!!!  These Owner's of this company (LIMITLESS INNOVATIONS) will undoubtedly be a SUCCESS in this day and age when finding QUALITY, PUNCTUALITY, RELIABILITY and PROFESSIONALISM are elusive and rare.  Please visit them on their FaceBook page to see some of the beautiful work that they have done.   Chris <br />"

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Mountain-pine, AR

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
