"I chose Tony to do my roof repair, and I am really glad I did. After removing the shingles, he discovered more damage underneath and explained everything clearly. We decided to move forward with the full repair, and he was honest, helpful, and professional throughout the entire process. Big thanks to Tony and his crew for doing a great job!"

"AB1 construction did a fine job installing a replacement roof. I had my roof done in 2009 by Home Depot, what a crappy job. Dave and his crew installed new plywood and shingles. He laid down a modern underlayment and roof vent. His job was clean and professional. All spoils were removed and the whole area cleaned up. Additionally, AB1 construction, rebricked my chimney and sheet rocked and painted my bathroom ceiling. All jobs were clean and professional. AB1 construction gave me the lowest price just for the roof. I highly recommend AB1 Construction. Mark Nordyke, Paterson NJ. "

"Had the most wonderful experience working with U.S.A. Construction. We had our backyard completely made over and then called them back to redo our driveway. They are all so nice and professional. Always on time and willing to adjust on our behalf. I highly recommend them for anyone who is looking to any work outside."

" I was pleased with the work on my tall retaining wall. The stucco was in poor condition and needed replacement. First Choice removed the old stucco and repaired the wall with new mesh and stucco. They were thorough and worked hard to finish in a week. I got regular videos on the progress each day. The site was immaculate when they were done and my wall was beautiful again. "

FAQs for brick or stone tuck pointing projects in Mountainside, NJ

Masons charge between $70 and $110 per hour. A mason may have a minimum service fee ranging from $80 to $300. Most bricklayers offer free estimates and charge only if you proceed with the project. This clear pricing model assures that professionals inspect your property before beginning work and charge based on your project’s actual requirements.

A professional repointing lasts 20 to 30 years without maintenance and extends up to 50 years when maintained diligently. This process protects your brickwork using high-quality materials that ensure lasting performance and durability. Consistent upkeep preserves its strength and appearance, providing enduring protection and enhancing your home’s overall structural integrity for decades.

You know your house needs repointing when you notice clear signs such as cracked, flaking, or missing mortar and visible discoloration on the brick surfaces. Additional indicators include loose bricks, water damage, and gaps between the brick joints that compromise the overall integrity of the structure. Addressing these issues promptly protects your investment and sustains the durability and curb appeal of your home.

A house needs repointing to preserve both its structural integrity and visual appeal. Mortar acts as a vital bonding agent that holds the bricks securely together. When the mortar deteriorates, it exposes the structure to water infiltration and further decay, increasing the risk of costly repairs. Repointing stops decay and reinforces the exterior, ensuring long-term protection.
