"Tech did a great job of cleaning and testing the equipment. However, a <br /> piece of equipment that was tested was found to be faulty about a month <br /> later. Though I had to pay for the service call and to have the part <br /> replaced the tech refunded the price of the inspection and discounted <br /> the part cost. This said I think the first tech DID do his job and WELL <br /> but the part just failed. I was impressed that the company stood behind <br /> their "your heating/cooling system will run well after tune up <br /> guarantee". Additionally, both times techs came to the house they were <br /> profession and courteous and explained everything they were doing and <br /> answered all questions knowledgeably.  It was great to interact with <br /> true HVAC Professionals. <br />"

"Our A/C quit working on Sun 6/27/10. Since it is still under the manufacturer warranty, we went to the Bryant website to look for authorized repair companies since the contractor who installed it in 2007 has since gone out of business. First thing Mon morning we called Cordova Heating and A/C service and the soonest they could come was Wed. On Wed morning the repairman arrived. He proceeded to disassemble the inside air handler by removing the panel and filters. He also worked on the outside condenser unit and though he didn't disassemble it, he did remove the plug and used a hose to spray through the louvers to clean it. After 3 hours he came and reported he could not repair it and left. He didn't call Bryant for tech support or put the unit back together - he just left. We then called Bryant and spoke to customer service, explaining that the repairman just abandoned the job. Bryant wasn't much help, they just said he should have called tech support for assistance and suggested we call another company listed on their website. So we then called Bryko, also on the website list of authorized repair dealers. Bryko said they would try to get out Wed afternoon or Thu morning. They didn't call to update us on their arrival, so we called Thu a.m. and they said a Technician would be there that day; he arrived around 1:00 PM. He got right to work and inspected the upstairs unit and asked about it being disassembled. He looked at the condenser and saw the plug had been pulled. He said the other company's tech may have been intimidated because there are not many homes in Memphis with the Bryant Evolution zone system (allows you to separately control heat/air in multiple "zones" using one unit). Fortunately, he did say he had been trained to repair it. The Bryko technician was able to troubleshoot the system and diagnose the problem in less than an hour. He didn't have the exact part needed on his truck, but went ahead and put in a similar part until the replacement he ordered arrived the next day. We also had him go ahead and do the annual maintenance on the unit. He disassembled the condenser and thoroughly cleaned it with a cleaning solution and hose. He put it all back together and had the house cooling in about 2 hours. He returned the next day with the factory replacement parts and had them installed in about 30 min. The entire repair (starts when the Tech is dispatched) took 3.5 hrs at $89.00 per hour (one hour was for routine maintenance, not repair). There was no charge for the parts (except freon added for maintenance) since the system is under warranty. We were pleased with the Technician's service and knowlege of the system. He worked promptly and got us cooled down - a big relief after more than 4 days w/o air! The only reason for less than a straight A rating is because they didn't keep us apprised of when they would arrive, so we stuck around our uncooled house to be sure we didn't miss them. Otherwise, the service and repair were very good."

"At first they were going to cut out the burn spot and replace it with a piece of carpet from the closet. The owner suggested they cut it down and clean it instead because he felt the other way would look horrendous, since it was in the middle of the bedroom. So glad he came up with that idea. Once they were finished, you couldn't even tell there was ever a burn spot there. It looked wonderful. They did such an excellent job. Very impressed and would highly recommend to anyone."

FAQs for air ducts & vents cleaning service projects in Munford, TN

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) states that air duct cleaning is not required unless visible issues such as mold buildup, rodent droppings, or excessive dust are present. When such conditions exist, cleaning becomes essential to protect indoor air quality and maintain HVAC efficiency. This approach minimizes potential health risks and extends the system’s life.

Air ducts must be cleaned every three to five years as required by NADCA to preserve system efficiency and indoor air quality. The EPA insists that cleaning is necessary only when significant issues such as mold, pest infestations, or heavy dust accumulation are evident. Annual inspections by a certified professional promptly address any emerging concerns.

The ideal seasons for air duct cleaning are spring and fall. Cleaning during these periods prepares your HVAC system for the demands of both winter heating and summer cooling. These seasons provide moderate weather conditions that enable efficient service completion while minimizing disruption, ensuring your system performs at its peak.

Professional air duct cleaning takes a fixed duration of two to five hours, depending on the home’s size and the complexity of the duct system. Smaller residences with standard ductwork complete the service in two hours, while larger homes with extensive ducts require up to five hours. Additional repairs may extend this duration.

To prepare for professional air duct cleaning, ensure all vents are unobstructed by moving nearby furniture and clearing pathways. Secure any pets in a safe area and confirm that your HVAC system units are easily accessible for technician inspection. Proper preparation contributes to a higher quality service outcome and prevents delays, allowing the cleaning process to proceed efficiently.
