"My husband and I hired Jeff's Drywall and Painting in October for popcorn removal and painting in our entire house. Jeff's crew; Jeff, Tommy, John, and Ronnie were experts with what they did. The whole popcorn removal process took about two to three weeks. Yes, it was extremely messy and life became uncomfortable but they cleaned up behind themselves well and our ceilings look brand new. The job they did with the popcorn was very impressive. As for the painting, they did a fantastic job as well. The painting took them about a week to complete, they came back after the main project was over and caulked and painted fresh crown molding we installed. Once they left, we had floors installed through the entire house and they returned promptly after that was finished to caulk and paint our new quarter round molding and stairs. Their skill painting was amazing and everything turned out beautiful. They were great to work with. They arrived at our house right on time and started working immediately. They kept us informed. Communication is excellent. Jeff picked up a phone call every time and if he missed a phone call, he called us back. We are very pleased with the result of our home – they did an amazing job. We will absolutely use them again in the future. We highly recommend Jeff’s Drywall and Painting and you won’t regret it!"

"These guys did an excellent job and I'd rehire them in a heartbeat. Fermin Ortiz is the owner and is very friendly and conscientious. He was on the job everyday with 2-4 of his crew. The job required just over 3 weeks to complete our 2800 sq ft townhouse. This included painting the indoor garage (including the floor), painting the outside portico over our front porch, and some concrete near our basement steps. Job required repair and patch of nail pops, repair larger holes in drywall, repair old joint tape. Two coats of paint and primer when required. Showed up every morning at 8:00 and worked until 4:30. Part of the higher price was due to my requirement to remove all light fixtures, switch covers, receptacle covers, smoke detectors, and door hardware before painting. Everyday they covered our furniture with plastic sheeting to help keep it clean, then cleaned up/vacuumed the floors, and even moved all furniture themselves as they moved around the rooms. They also worked 6 days a week when requested to get job done on time. I have hired too many contractors in the DMV area that didn't do a good job. I was lucky to find these guys. I highly recommend this company."

"Jillian was absolutely fantastic to work with!  She is an amazing talent and one of the hardest workers I have ever met.  First, she was very responsive to my inquiry and subsequent calls.  Very nice change from other contractors that I contacted for my renovation project (they were not hired).  She went well above and beyond what I expected.  She helped me pick out all the colors and even met me at Lowe's to help pick out matching tile!  She also took the time to meet with my daughter to determine exactly what she wanted on her walls.  Additionally, she made an extra trip a month after she was complete to paint my baseboards (installed later due to flooring replacement), even though I said I didn't expect her to do that. <br /> One quick anecdote.  I had a huge pile of flooring that was in the way of her setting up to paint the living room ceiling.  I told her to let me know when she needed it moved and I would get it out of her way.  She is petite.  She works alone.  I checked in a day later and the wood was moved and the ceiling painted!  <br /> I can unequivocally recommend Jillian.  Her professionalism, artistic talent, and work ethic are all excellent. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"I have not had any luck replacing doors in this house. I keep buying doors in big box stores and hiring contractors/handymen to install them. The work is never satisfactory and never lasts more than 7 years. I told my husband that this time were were going to hire a local company that specialized in windows and doors. Kenny came within a couple of days of my call to measure and find out what I wanted. Now here is where it gets a little tricky. I wanted steel doors instead of wood because the wood doors warp and swell so terribly in this southern climate. My husband is a P.E. (engineer) and has some very definite ideas on security, installation, screw length, dead bolts and their installation, and a security plate set behind the studs. He seems to be afraid that someone may be able to kick in the door during a home invasion. This is a 20 gauge steel door with 2 locks, a peep hole, and no windows. No windows was my choice. I just end up hanging a curtain for privacy. Not to be outdone, I have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and two cats who like to look out of the door. I wanted storm doors that were glass at the bottom to protect the pets, but could easily convert to screen on top to allow for ventilation. Kenny did not even crack a smile. He measured my dog's height and found the exact storm door that I needed. Kenny's wife, Blanca, is the office manager and work scheduler. We did most of our communication by email which was my choice, however, she always replied within the hour. She was a pleasure to work with. I know my husband's demands (complete with hand drawn blueprints) made her a little nervous, but she never got annoyed. Kenco sent me a crew of two men to install the four doors. They started early and worked hard, but quit early. They explained and I agreed, that they could not get the second door completed by nightfall and did not want to start a job like replacing a door unless they could guarantee completion by day's end. They worked for the longest time on the front entry door as my house is neither square nor plumb, but the door was up and appeared to be in perfect working order. I asked my husband what was the problem. He replied, "The hinge is squeaking and he keeps adjusting the hinges and balance to find the squeak!" The only reason I gave Kenco a B in cost is that this is not a cheap product nor a cheap project. I will say they get an A++ in terms of getting what you pay for. Kenco carries Provia doors which are custom made in the factory with your choice of color fused into the steel so that you need never paint it."

"Work exceeded expectations! Price was very reasonable. They completed the job quickly and took great care to protect anything that was not to be painted (sidewalks, deck, shrubs). Communication throughout the process was outstanding. No details were left out - even painted the mailbox post to match the house trim color! It was clear that they took great pride in their work and wanted to make us happy with the finished product. We could not have anticipated a better experience and would certainly use them again!"

"I hate having to leave a less than excellent review but I so appreciate the time people take to share their experiences, good, bad, and average on Angie's List. I just joined so I didn't check out this company before using them. I will begin by saying that the water mitigation dept. of CRC was excellent in responsiveness. We had a hot water pipe burst at 3 am above my closet on the second floor. We were awakened by a large picture hitting the floor as it fell from a saturated wall. We quickly turned off the water and put buckets under the dripping ceilings. We called our insurance company the next morning and our agent recommended CRC. We called and they were onsite within the hour (about 8:30am). It was almost too much to believe because there were probably 7-8 guys ripping out the ceiling and moldings and installing huge dehumidifiers, floor mats, and fans. It broke my heart to see my crown molding and wainscoting ripped out and hacked up- what a waste! They said it had to be done to prevent mold, but that they would be sure to replace it just like it was and I had no reason at that time not to believe them. The project manager was very reassuring and explained everything in detail. He spoke with our insurance company and for some reason they were given the go ahead to do the estimate for the reconstruction instead of an adjustor. OK, big red flags should have gone up but they assured me this happens all the time. Their estimator came at the end of the next week. We walked carefully around and pointed out each of the damaged areas. The estimator assured me repeatedly that the work would be done right and we would be pleased and it was guaranteed for three years. After several days my insurance company called and said the estimate was too high so they would need to have an adjustor come out after all. Why they didn't  send an adjustor to start with is beyond me. All the insurance adjustor did was basically confirm that the CRC quote was good although we found several areas where the CRC estimator had made mistakes (like carpet replacement for $0.62/sq ft in one bedroom and $3.43/sq ft. in another room for the same carpet). Obviously the adjustor didn't go over the CRC quote carefully. So after that, CRC never contacted us again. I called and was told the structural project manager would be in touch to schedule the work to be done. They even left a lockbox on our door so they could access our house when needed. It is now October and we still have not heard from them. We contacted the water mitigation project manager to ask him to please come get the lockbox. At least he responded. He removed it without knocking (or maybe I wasn't home). He was a really nice guy but the other part of the company he works for is not up to his standard. So, be aware- CRC- great for water mitigation but don't count on them to follow up with repairs. I rated them a C because unfortunately I think this is an average experience when it comes to dealing with home repair. What a shame. No wonder there are so many DIYer's. <br />"
