Small jobs welcome

"This is the company you want to hire! Simply put, they do what they say will do. The quote and payment processes, value, and communication are everything you would expect and more. They finished our job sooner than they promised and gave an education in concrete installation and care. They even left the site as clean as they found it."

"The Concrete Gentlemen did a superb job on our stamped concrete patio installation. They were timely, efficient, and professional every step of the way. The price was quite reasonable as well. What really stood out to me most was the great communication. They responded almost immediately to any text. They answered every question politely and thoroughly. They showed up exactly when they were scheduled, (which is very different from other companies I've dealt with). We enjoyed working with Antonio, and we couldn't be happier with the final product!!"

Customers say: Terrific value

"There were a of communication (or lack of on the part of the company) and scheduling issues. When the workers arrived they finished the project, but told me they didn’t have a truck to haul away the rubble. I was too tired to argue, so it was left for me to shovel and rake. Later, I noticed that the workers cut expansion joints but did not cut up to the house because they didn’t have the correct tool, so they just left it. I had to call for them to come back and finish it. They also chipped part of the concrete. When I pointed it out, I was told to just fill it with sealant, and it would be alright. The concrete slab is good, but I wouldn’t really recommend them. Too much hassle."

"I contacted Absolute Water and Drainage via recommendations I had seen on Angie's List, and I am so happy I did. Let me just say what a stand up business these two have. When we first contacted them, we had about 4 inches of water in our East Nashville crawl/basement. Teresa put me in contact with one of the contractors they work with and he came out and was able to pump out the water for a very appropriate price. He indicated that I really should have Byron come out and take a look at some of our issues.
Absolute was quite busy at that time, but they came out to our house within a month or so and were very prompt of the time/date we had agreed upon. It just so happens that at the date they came out, we had had rain the previous days and again, there was some water (about 1-3 inches) in the majority of our basement area (unfinished). Byron quickly was able to assess the problem and determine what was required if we wanted to secure this not happening in the future. He recommended 1) new sump pump, properly sunk (the one that we had was not properly installed by any means), 2) partial french drain and 3) tying all existing downspouts into underground lines and taking those lines out into lowest area in our yard. He thoroughly evaluated our property, and even went so far as to drain the water out himself at no cost. He had a spare sump pump that he had removed from another location and got it working (as ours burnt out) and was able to pump out almost all water.
Furthermore, he (and I am assuming this is true for his company) made no overarching sales pitch. He in fact, discussed with me how my gutters were not large enough nor installed properly for the amount of watershed from our roof. He told me that he would certainly be happy to come do the estimated work (see above; roughly $5,000.00) but that I may want to fix the gutters first and then monitor. He put me in contact with fantastic gutter crew that came out the next week and redid our entire gutter system. As his schedule at the time was very busy, he was unable to fix our sump pump, but even went out of his way to help me and consult with me while we were able to get another contracting crew in to properly install sump pump.
The gutters and new sump pump that he recommended have greatly reduced the problem, but not solved them entirely, and therefore as soon as we are able, we are absolutely going to contact Byron and Teresa to finish our work.
I want to say thank you to both of them. Byron is a true craftsman, and is able to discuss with his clients what needs to be done in a reasonable and understandable fashion. I look forward to working with them both in the very near future.

"I had MadeWell Concrete replace my 475 foot concrete driveway in May of this year, 2019. I delayed rating their work because concrete can look good but only time is the best measure of a quality installation. They did a great job of removing the old (39 year old) concrete driveway and preparing the driveway bed for the pouring of the new driveway. They poured the new driveway according to their stated schedule and was finished and gone within 3 days. The new concrete driveway has performed splendidly with no evidence of cracking. One concern that I asked them to address with replacing the old driveway was the slope of the driveway at the entry point at the street. I had experienced my car scraping on the bottom frame due to the rounding of the driveway slope. They changed the slope and resolved the problem and I ve had no recurrence of that since. Alex, MadeWell s sales rep, did a great job of presenting their plan of replacement and his promises and assurances were kept. I would use them again without hesitancy."

FAQs for concrete driveways & floors installation projects in Nashville, TN

Whether terrazzo is better than porcelain or ceramic tiles for a kitchen or bathroom floor depends on your design preference. Terrazzo can last a long time, but so can a properly installed ceramic tile floor. According to the National Association of Home Builders, the lifespan of a ceramic tile floor is 75 to 100 years, similar to terrazzo.

You should clean terrazzo floors like you would marble, even if there’s no marble in the aggregate. Avoid abrasive cleaners that can scratch the polished surface, and steer clear of acidic cleaners like vinegar, which can damage the surface. Instead, use plain water or a neutral cleaner to mop the floor. Then, use a wet vac or squeegee to remove the dirty water. Regular buffing with a soft cloth can help you maintain the shine.

Terrazzo is made by mixing an aggregate like glass or stone with a binder like cement or epoxy. The mix is made and poured into the prepared space you designate. Alternatively, you can purchase prefabricated terrazzo tiles, which consist of similar materials. They’re poured into a mold and cured before installation.

You can add radiant heating under a terrazzo floor, which is an excellent way to combat the naturally cold surface of terrazzo floors. Installing radiant heating costs $1,653 to $6,656. You'll want to install the heating elements under the thin-set epoxy because the layer is thin enough for the warmth to conduct through the floor.

Making your own terrazzo can be a tricky DIY project. The exact mix takes a blend of art and skill to create and requires the expertise of a terrazzo pro. The wrong blend could crack, peel, or break easily, requiring expensive repairs. Finishing and polishing the floor also requires previous experience to achieve a professional appearance. Expect to pay between $200 and $2,500 for the cost of restoring and polishing floors.

Terrazzo flooring is eco-friendly because it is crafted using recycled materials such as glass, marble, and polished metal, and its epoxy binder emits no VOCs once cured. This sustainable manufacturing approach minimizes waste and supports green building practices. Homeowners gain an attractive flooring option, contributing to healthier indoor air quality and environmental conservation.
